Gorzow Gp-30th August 2014

I don't get the "hate" of MJJ on here. The guy has scored 31 in 3 GPs, made 2 semis and a final. He's averaging just over 10 a GP which would put him on 93 over 9 rounds and put him in the mix with Tai, Nicki, KK, Puk and Matej. Mock all you like the the guy is a class act and you all look pathetic for slagging him off.

Agreed, its only due MJJ fan on here, if it didn't exist, MJJ would have a lot more fans on here. You cant knock facts.

IF they don't qualify through challenge, 4 picks have to be:

Zmarzlik, Mikkel Bech, Piotr Pawlicki and MJJ.

I think THJ have earned himself a pick if he doesn't qualify by own merit via the GP Challenge.

He is riding well in Sweden and rode very good in the SWC this year.

Mikkel Bech haven't been that good this season and is not GP-material yet.

The 4 wildcards will be dependent on current injuries. Niels has Tweeted his season could be over so no doubt 1 of those spaces will be his if he was to slip out the top 8. Harsh if not

Zmarzlik, Vaculik, MJJ and then it'll depend if they want a 2nd Aussie with them having a GP in Aus - so Troy who is going to fnishing 9th or 10th will get one.

Puk should hold on as it would require 2 of Holder, Lindgren, Batch and Smoli to score 20+ over the 3 rounds and they just don't look like doing it. But if Batch and Holder did do it, Puk could have that wildcard.

Mind you, I have no allowed a Swede, probably Vaculik who'll lose out.

Awful crash between Puk and Greg, hope they aren't too seriously hurt. Hancock might be very lucky, because they way his arm got sucked in was horrible.

After we saw the worse side of the sport it was great to see the best with some superb stuff from Zmarzlik, Zagar and KK. Lovely celebrations as well.

A good meeting to watch tonight, shame about the serious crash.

Having come back to speedway only last year I cant understand comments about certain riders basically because I dont know their history.

What I do know is I like the style of MJJ and rate hima good rider with a brilliant future. How old is he? 23? Former under 21 world champ - cant be bad. Read today that his father has throat cancer and has had for some time. Maybe that is a contributory fact to his "below potential" form which is mentioned by his critics. Probably affect me if I would have been in the same situation at his age. We all handle difficulties such as that differently, will affect some more then others.

Certainly I would like to see MJJ given a wild card next year on the basis of his 3 gp appearances this year. More so MJJ then tonights winner. Why? Ok, he is only 19 and for someone that age his performance was outstanding. But doesnt he ride Gorzow as his home track? Not detracting from his performance, at such a young age to keep his cool among such outstanding and experienced company is a massive achievement, but home track, "special" engine (do they check the top 3's engines), a one off meeting - needs more outings at that level to show what he could sustain over a season. Where did he finish in the Polish championship the other week? - when KK ruled the roost.

But I agree, sadly AJ is past his prime, Freddie is fighting but cant get the points regularly, Chris harris is not performing (only got a handful more points then MJJ) so they should not be in the pick for permanent wildcards.

NKI for one if he is out for the rest of the season, MJJ would be my 2nd wild card, Hample is still worthy of consideration, Vaculik ok (but didnt he say he wanted a break for 3 or 4 years), there should be a Swede - but who, couple young swedes not quite good enough yet so may be Freddie again.

So my 4 would be NKI, MJJ, Hample, Freddie.

Sadly only one Brit next year - the obvious one, Tai

I agree with another poster Thomas H Jonnasson worth a Swedish wild card.

GREAT performance by Zmarzlik, very mature, confident but let's not forget that this was on his home track. Might be too soon to throw him into the 2015 series but surely his time will come.

Update on Greg just before midnight here in Gorzow: not as bad as first feared. Just been told he has broken one finger and dislocated another. Looking at the TV replays his hand and arm were sucked into the rear wheel of Iversen's bike. Could have caused serious damage. Hope he rides in Vojens to maintain his 100 per cent record but it has thrown Woffinden a lifeline.
