mdmc82
Sunday August 24, 2014 COVENTRY are looking to keep their incredible momentum going in a big Bank Holiday Monday double clash with local rivals Leicester. The Buildbase Bees, who took seven points from Lakeside earlier in the weekend, now host the Lions at Brandon with the meeting having a 2pm start, before they face the return fixture at the Jordan Road Surfacing Stadium at 7.30pm. With an Elite League total of 41 points from 22 matches, Bees are well and truly on course for a play- off place, and it may be that one win on Monday will lift them into the top four. But they will be going for as many points as possible, and spirit in the camp is at an all-time high after the backs-to-the-wall home win over the Hammers on Friday followed by the remarkable 56-39 triumph at Purfleet 24 hours later. Manager Gary Havelock said: Its another big day for us, and its nice that again we are due to be at full strength for both meetings. Like Ive been saying all season, when the boys all click together they can beat anyone on any track. Its in their hands, and the sky is the limit for this team. We have to keep everybodys feet on the ground and just carry on taking things meeting by meeting. We wont be getting too carried away with ourselves, and well approach Monday the same way. Leicester have riders who can go well at Coventry so well respect that, go for the win and then re-group before heading to Leicester later on. The play-off picture currently shows Eastbourne, Lakeside and Coventry all on 41 points with Swindon on 40, and all four clubs are scheduled to be in action on Monday. Bees, who have matches in hand on each of their rivals, have a maximum seven points available from the Leicester matches, whilst Eastbourne travel to Wolverhampton and Swindon and Lakeside face each other at Blunsdon. Its the second Bank Holiday programme of Bees/Lions encounters this year, with Coventry having taken six points out of seven when the teams met over Easter, but Leicester have improved since making mid-season team changes and there is expected to be large travelling support at both venues. A final reminder that start-time at Brandon on Monday is 2pm, with the return at Leicester taking place at 7.30pm. mdmc82
Are we going to race in boats? think we are all going to pray and keep everything crossed. When they say it's going to be lovely all day, we usually get a heavy downpour so hoping they are wrong again this time (hopefully Leicester & Coventry will sort restaging dates asap if the weather is mean to us tomorrow)
The Observer
Regrettably I cannot see this double-header taking place, weather forecast for both Coventry & Leicester is shocking. I like many have been looking forward to these 2-matches with cracking line-ups, but I fear both will be a complete washout. Gutted!
StephenMiller
Sadly, I think the weather will be the only winner here! Pity, as the Bees are in cracking form right now.

Bee 26
Might as well make an early call off decision as it won't have any chance!
mdmc82
Guess with being a local derby it means they can both give it some time. Not looking good though. Can't see many meetings being on anywhere

mdmc82
Need to get some re arranged dates booked in. Time running out Worst think is if you look at dates left, Howarth & Garrity already riding in PL for most of them or there are fixtures abroad. Don't envy the bees management. (Gonna need lots of good guests)
