Bee 26
Double header scheduled for tomorrow but heavy rain forecasted all day along with a weather warning! Can't see it being on but should it go ahead then Bees win at home and hopefully nick a point for the return. Full team as well! Shale Searcher
Hmmmmm, rain direction more southerly than forecast by the looks of it on hi res radar..... Awaiting a possible met office downgrade???
mdmc82
Do the right thing and call it off. Don't create another farce. The meeting has 0% chance of even getting to Heat 10. Doyle said its raining and the forecast is awful. It's raining in Leicester. At the moment just drizzle in Coventry, depends if gets heavier. Horton isn't going to rush to call it off when so many meetings to fit in and I can't blame him.
Shale Searcher
How much does it cost to Rain-Off a meeting these days?? Assuming ALL your riders are already on planet UK?? Met Office Updated weather warning for today, Leicester now only just in warning area....... Rain being dragged in a more southerly direction, still rain showing for Leicester, but just a 20 mile shift and the heavy stuff misses Leicester... Esp when forecast changing all the time. Never reliable. Had been dry in Coventry for last 90mins, light rain now falling again. Had none of the forecast heavy rain yet though. Latest hi res rain radar has the majority of the heavy rain to the south of Leicester, met office amended weather warning accordingly.... If it continues to modify in a similar way, we will get rain, but significantly less heavy and likely to cease by evening.....

Shale Searcher
Ummm me thinks there could be a hint of wishful thinking there? No, I speak fact only, check the met office warning, the rain area has been modified, nowhere near as north as it was forecast for.. justathought
Don't think this will be on in a million years. And if they did the standard of racing wouldn't be good, plus a miserable night to watch speedway. Call it off now is my suggestion.

Star Lady
Good of the teams to come together and come up with dates so fast Amazing how they can do it this end of the season but not any other time Applies to all clubs not just Cov and Leics. Bee 26
COVENTRY can confirm new dates for three fixtures as the Elite League run-in continues. The dreadful weather on Bank Holiday Monday resulted in both of the Buildbase Bees’ matches against Leicester being postponed. However, these matches have been quickly re-arranged for THIS SUNDAY, August 31. The meeting at Brandon will take place at 2.30pm with the return at the Jordan Road Surfacing Stadium at 7.30pm. In addition, there is a change to the home fixture against King’s Lynn, which now comes forward 24 hours to Thursday September 4 (7.30pm). The meeting was initially scheduled for the Friday, but this would have clashed directly with the return to the Ricoh Arena of Coventry City FC, whose televised League One match against Gillingham is expected to pull in a huge attendance. Coventry Speedway did not consider it sensible to attempt to run a meeting at the same time, and we thank King’s Lynn for their co-operation in bringing their fixture forward. With the return of the football club we will be looking into the possibility of some future tie-ups, and supporters who are attending the Gillingham match should retain those tickets.
