Bee 26
Wonder if we will let Hansen rest his shoulder and use Robbo.... We need the track to be like it was last night every week, plenty of dirt on the outside and you can't stop Bomber!
foreverblue
Gotta feel for the Stars. Best team all season and now just starting to run out of form and Iversen irreplaceable. The Bees peaking at the right time again. No surprise in the result. Bet you didnt say that in 2010 when coventry beat poole and poole had been the best all season
Steve0
Awful, awful, awful. Three heat leaders nowhere near good enough. Can't blame the club for protesting but it gave Coventry their motivation on a plate. Well done to them. Don't think it really matters if we finish top or not, can't see us beating anyone over two legs. Play off disaster inevitable now I'm afraid. Such a shame after the start we made. It is a shame but it's been said before - it's not how you start it's how you finish

The Bees peaking at the right time again. No surprise in the result. At least they got a guest for NKI though. Garrity is one of the best if not the best fast track riders in the draft on current form so can not be replaced around Brandon yet we had to ride with no rider to replace him. Goes to show the believe and spirit of this team.
Bagpuss
Its interesting to read the before and after comments both here and on the Swindon/Wolves thread. Before, all abuse, aggression and criticism. After, no complaints at all and virtually everyone saying how much they enjoyed the meetings. To me, it just shows only too plainly that for all the shambles off track, the spite, backstabbing and attempts at cheating when things get out on the track just how good speedway can be and that what matters most is four nutters on bikes without brakes. Some of the keyboard commandoes on here who never go and do nothing but slag the sport off should think about that once in a while. In a way that's the saddest part HT, although we've not seen to much of it at Lynn this year speedway at it best can be utterly breathtaking. Yet despite this unless the politics of the sport ie cheating and rule bending, and rider availability are sorted people will continue to drift away until there aren't enough left. I just wish somebody would grab British speedway by the scruff of the neck and get it sorted.
Steve0
Cracking meeting tonight on a well prepared track. Decent size crowd, was quite surprised Bomber was just awesome and no one was going to catch him. Schlein was an absolute disgrace nearly throwing punches at Havvy in the pits, the bloke should be reported. Up the Bees How do you nearly throw a punch? Just interested. Just noticed that Orion asked the same question last night - great minds and all that Edited September 5, 2014 by Steve0

pointsmeanplayoffs
Regarding that Horton statement, Coventry riders certainly did show their class, especially Bomber. Best team on the night won for sure. As for the Promotion who can't plan ahead well enough to get a FTD on the list in time before the start of the month, the manager who talks nonsense and the group of fans who don't understand the rules and who cheer when their own former rider falls off, well, 'classy' isn't the word I'd use.
philfromcov
i thought the crowd was very poor, not good, i walk round the track before the start, the die hards more than made up for it with noise thou. The whole mess was Horton's fault, moving the date was just dum. The issue around luke priest, cant blame KL for that either, although it does grate that as no FTR were available what were Coventry supposed to do? and the answer of course as is always the case with speedway, never mind rip off the paying public. having said that wow, who will want us in the play offs? disappointed in the KL team, the heat leaders didnt do the job they were paid for. its about time some of the away riders woke and realised, we have got a home track advantage now after 40 years and you just can turn up and expect it to be the track it was. that goes to most of the Aussies you know who you are!

Yeah if someone could come in with millions and give all promotions who don't own their track enough dosh to build a new stadium apiece for speedway only akin to Poland, Sweden and Denmark. If this person would then bankrole all the clubs every season like in Poland, Sweden and Denmark and get some adverts going on the BBC, ITV and sky we'd be getting somewhere!

IainB
I had some fans come up to me and say that was the best performance from a Coventry team in ten years, and thats a real complimenterm Mick, didn't you tell them there were only 3 Coventry riders that were appearing Edited September 5, 2014 by iainb
Trees
Doesn't require any of that necessarily Trees, just a strong governance and a decent fixture planner would make a massive difference.Fixture planning in this country is a bloody nightmare, 100% if we only had 2 race nights things would be easier.I agree that stronger governance would help, take last night, why didn't the management committee ring Rob and tell him officially about Luke Priest's inclusion? The Coventry management also said they had rang all ftr's but apparently they had not!!!

SteveLyric2
Great performance from the Bees - Bomber in particular, carrying on from his guest appearance the night before (one of the best sights in speedway watching Bomber on the charge!) Coventry could finish top on this showing and if they do I wonder who they would choose in the semis? even though its still not clear-cut who the final 4 will be?!

g13webb
Before I start moaning, I would like to say a big thank you to Bomber Harris for his wonderful display last night. So reminiscent of the good ole days when the like of Collins, Morton, Lee, Olsen, Penhall Nielsen all knew how to ride the Coventry track. It was also, so good to see a top rider step up to the mark and show how it should be done. What should have been an enjoyable evening quickly turned sour with a delayed start. Then that silly announcer proceeded to rubbish the Lynn management because they complained, when it was so obvious that Horton had dropped a big one. Then Havelock, had the mordacity to blame Lynn for the delay and went on about Lynn being pathetic in not allowing the Bees to field an illegible rider. Stupid little man. About time he grew-up. Don’t know why he was so worried, as with recent week we were rubbish. We offered nothing. Words fail me, in all the 49 yrs. of existents, this was probably the best chance we have ever had of winning the big one, and it started off so well. But everything we had at the start of the year has now gone. The Passion, The inspiration, the leadership, the togetherness, the desire, the domination, the laughter, the fun, the Team spirit has all gone. Why, How, Where, I don’t know. What we saw last night was a group pathetic individuals going through the motions. Not caring a damn, of the fact we were being soundly beaten by a team made up of mostly PL riders. It was embarrassing. Yesterday was quite hectic, up a 6 and on the go till 4 just to enable us the space to go to Coventry. I had planned to go to Eastbourne, Leicester and Belle Vue as well, but standing there last night I had to question my sanity. Last night was the worse Stars performance I had seen in a long time. Didn’t go a lot on some of the fans cheering when riders fell, They’re some sad people about, But well done to the team who really battled well. Especially Bomber……
