Star Lady
Yawn. That is the most predictable post of the night out the way. All true tho , well I can't comment on the crowd but the rest is spot on
mdmc82
Special mention to James Sarjeant who when left on his own at reserve really stepped up and gave his all. His race where he was leading Rory until a small mistake on the last lap and his heat 9 win against Kerr were brilliant Yawn. That is the most predictable post of the night out the way. aw glad you had faith in them then
Champion2010
All true tho , well I can't comment on the crowd but the rest is spot on Yawn. That is the most predictable post of the night out the way. Not sure what is wrong with his/her post. think your picking for sake of it mate.  Team did fight hard so why shouldn't they be praised? Atmosphere was electric tonight, fans were really making some noise and behind the team  Congratulations to Harris on his 18point Maximum, Loved watching him move from last place and pick the riders off one by one. Super Captain.  The bees riders had a real fire in their belly including the guests. Done the same with heavily depleted teams against Eastbourne & Lakeside but tonight was even better
leighrico
Schlein was an absolute disgrace nearly throwing punches at Havvy in the pits, the bloke should be reported. Â Think you mean rewarded, not reported.
Coventry_Bee
It was a good meeting, however I imagine people will hail the 5 man team rightly so but it papers over a few cracks. An error was made on the bees management to try using a rider not permitted in the rules. Bees would have protested if the ball was on the other foot, so that's a delay to a school night meeting, the track was patchy at best. The tractor was out so many times and it's easy to see why Coventry is being criticised so much by other riders. Bomber was in another class tonight, track suits him and luck wasn't on kings Lynn side I'd say with Rory falling on the last bend and Kerr unlucky to be put out. Scott's engine failure also added to non finishers. My closing point is how disappointed I am in Gary Havelock. As team manager he represents the club at and away from the track the same as riders do, I'd call them ill advised twitter comments regarding MJJ, his endless comments about Kelvin Tatum are his opinions yes but really, a wise move ?? Not in my eyes. Tonight's comments about KL were also not needed, we broke the rules they didn't. Â Then the run in with Rory afterwards, just not what we want to see, in my view though that started with that old man who stands week in week out giving riders crap. He needs to wind his neck in, one week Harris and co are great next its how they are not fit enough to wear the bees colours and Ole Olsen wouldn't have stood for it. He's had a go with Tai, Rory, Bjerre and it's gone on for years going back to Eddie Kennett. Â Might not sound it but I am really happy with the win but sometimes it's the way you win or lose that matters. Sad state of British speedway when pot luck of reserves is going to go so much towards winning the league. could be last choice next year for the bees if they keep this system so enjoy it why we can. Star Fever
I wasn't the one who said about Lambert and Porsing. If I was then I must of been drunk. No I didn't think it was, that's why I said 'someone' - don't be so paranoid!
JamieE
Enjoyable meeting after turning up to find an even bigger farce than I was already expecting. Mick Horton can count himself very lucky indeed that it turned out ok in the end, surely he would have stuck with Friday if he'd known how tough getting a reserve guest would be? Havy's comments on the mike didn't sit well with me either, yes it felt a bit petty of King's Lynn when we were already sitting ducks for them but we put ourselves in that position with the Thursday race night and chose a rider not on the list - basic stuff. Surprisingly great crowd though all things considered, hence there being no programmes left when I arrived! Â Thankfully the 5 riders we did have (and some of the King's Lynn boys to be fair) put on a great show with by far the best racing I've seen at Brandon this season. Robbo and Bomber really winding it up around the outside like we know they're so good at on their day. Shame AJ wasn't there to join in too! A team with a fired up Harris is a dangerous team in the play offs as history shows us! Â King's Lynn as a whole team though were a special kind of awful, throwing points away all over the place. I'd noticed they'd been on the slide lately but after seeing it for myself it really is quite alarming for their fans I should think. Porsing probably wouldn't have been able to let Bjerre through on the tactical anyway with Fricke close behind, but shockingly he never even looked for him, he had no intention of letting him through, was Lyon still looking through the rulebook clutching at straws to tell the guy what he had to do?! Â Was already hoping we get King's Lynn in the play off semi's and tonight has only reinforced that for me. Who knows what could happen between now and then though. There's a feel good factor returning to Brandon though, no doubt.

abbo
9.37pm Coventry supporters angry that no one in authority is aware of the rule book regardingNL riders Mr Watson pops up and his only comment is "EXACTLY" where has he been all night perhaps looking under the bed for his Speedway rule book. Also only comments when the meeting is won. Well done to all the lads a big prize could be on its way

I didn't see what happened with Havvy and Rory, but it certainly sounded like there was some stick being given out from the guys overlooking the pits. Try not to listen to them when walking past but it always sounds ott! Â Agree with all of this. Look on the bright side though, hopefully the worst that would happen is they will keep the current fast track system, give us a low pick and we still end up with Sarjeant as one of our reserves as he's our asset. He can handle it, done a great job this season.
stevebrum
Gotta feel for the Stars. Best team all season and now just starting to run out of form and Iversen irreplaceable. The Bees peaking at the right time again. No surprise in the result.
Sienna Ryan
wow what a unexpected result for the bees. Â Myself and my partner decided to go along tonight and really glad we did. Have to admit that when I saw the bees with only 5 riders on parade, I wasn't feeling very confident for them esp with A head leader missing and Max having not rode the track before. Thought it would be a huge ask for Sarjeant to be the only reserve against a strong King's Lynn team with one of the best reserves in the league. Â However how wrong was I. Â One of the loudest I have heard the crowd on my visits to Brandon this year. Huge credit to all 5 riders. a lot of team would have had their heads down after going down to 5 riders but not these lads. If anything it made them more determined. Â Congratulations to Bomber on a well deserved and hard fought for Maximum. I went to watch him at Poole last night and is in brilliant form. Â Bit worrying for King's Lynn but hopefully they can now regroup and find some form before the play offs
remembertheracers
It beggars belief that Coventry, with its own NL team, could not track a number 6 - especially with the self publicist Main Man Rodgers of the Team USA in the set up, before his departure to MK to burn someone else's money as he did at Newport. oleoleole
Well. I moaned all the way there. I moaned to anyone who would listen before the meeting and then took my seat in the stand to witness one of the most entertaining and eventful meetings I've seen for a long time. Â Just shows what I know! Â Maybe it's best to try and ignore all the surrounding crap and just enjoy what those guys can do on the track. Bomber was at his very best and is a true spectacle in that frame of mind.

Did moving it to Thursday leave a lot of empty spaces on the terraces? Great result for the Bees and well done Bomber. Regards. Alan. Was one of the biggest crowds of the season (was very shocked myself`) the atmosphere and the way the fans got behind the riders was brilliant Really pleased for everyone. Everything coming good at the right time. Kenneth Hansen was much improved of late in Denmark today. scoring 10 +2 . Regards. Trees
Well done to the Bees, riders and fans up for it big time which was good to witness, helped by a pretty good, on the ball presenter! It's equally gutting to see the Stars and reps form, along with lady luck, continuing to desert us :-(
Popular Post Halifaxtiger
Its interesting to read the before and after comments both here and on the Swindon/Wolves thread. Before, all abuse, aggression and criticism. After, no complaints at all and virtually everyone saying how much they enjoyed the meetings. To me, it just shows only too plainly that for all the shambles off track, the spite, backstabbing and attempts at cheating when things get out on the track just how good speedway can be and that what matters most is four nutters on bikes without brakes. Â Some of the keyboard commandoes on here who never go and do nothing but slag the sport off should think about that once in a while.
mdmc82
Friday September 05, 2014 COVENTRY promoter Mick Horton has explained the circumstances which led to the Buildbase Bees tracking only five riders in Thursdays dramatic Elite League clash with Kings Lynn. Â Already using rider-replacement for the injured Ben Barker, Bees were blocked from using Storm regular Luke Priest as a guest for the unavailable Jason Garrity, as Priest is not on the Fast Track Draft List. Â That meant Coventry had to go into three races with just one rider, yet their depleted team still pulled off a remarkable 52-38 win. Â Horton said: I had permission from a member of the Management Committee (to use Priest) who then asked me to get in touch with Phil Morris, who is the Fast Track adjudicator. Â I was told if I got a letter or a text to say he was okay to ride, then that would be the case. I got that, and I showed it to the referee who was happy at the beginning of the meeting to let Luke ride. Â We quite literally rang every rider on the Fast Track list and there was not one available, so we had to have a decision on where we went. We were given that permission, and then Kings Lynn protested which was rather sad given that the lad would probably have got two points tops. Â They could have ridden under protest so that if we were in the wrong his points would be deducted, and it was sad because the fans pay good money to watch four riders in a race. Â But it backfired unbelievably, because you could tell the atmosphere changed. The fans were upset about it all, and the riders were so pumped up for it. I had some fans come up to me and say that was the best performance from a Coventry team in ten years, and thats a real compliment. Â All five of them were sensational. Robbo (Stuart Robson) loves the dirt, and look at Bomber (Chris Harris) unbelievable. Â It was a fantastic crowd, on a Thursday, and it just goes to show what support we have here. Were on a roll, and people are coming to see the Bees. We can go all the way weve got a real chance. Â Kings Lynn are a great team, theyre at the top on merit and theyre unfortunate to be without Niels (Iversen), but they came here fully expecting to take the points and we just showed our true class.
