Swindon - Lakeside Now Thurs 28-8-14

Recommended Posts

Swindon should have all riders available for this and also we should have the return of Peter Kildemand, can only see a home win and three more points for the Robins. Many thanks must go to Hans who was a great guest while Peter was out.

Will be able to see the Lakeside lineup later as if M Bech is still out injured and with many teams riding guests will be restricted.

We are now back to 4th in the league with Lakeside one point ahead of us prior to the results today, saturday, and we need to get max points from our remaining home meetings. Three contenders for the last two places in the top four race tonight, and apart from Eastbourne they also have meetings on monday.

One major issue could be the weather which at the moment is a lot of rain due on monday and if as usual they have dog racing up till about 6.30 work cannot take place on the track in the afternoon.

bad news for lakeside, Bech just posted on twitter

"Not the day we hoped for. Ain't happy for silver and pissed about my crash so I hurt my shoulder and my wrist again. No Poland or UK now."

Bad news indeed! Our usual late season bad luck, injuries and a few poor performances could cost us our top 4 position at this rate.

You never know, we might scrape a point at Swindon. Hopefully Richard and Lewis can keep up the good form!

3 meetings in 8 days means a lot of dosh to find especially with The Town playing at home twice this week. Hope the Robins wont regret the collapse at home to Wolves in their last home defeat in June in the race for the top 4. Must be defo Cov with Lakey out of the running after last night's ammering for the Ammers. Can only see a comfortable Robins win by about 20 points whenever this one goes ahead, and neck-and-neck race for the play-offs with the Eagles.

It's been called off already.

SWINDON’S Bank Holiday clash with Lakeside has been postponed due to the adverse weather conditions.

The meeting, which could be vital to the Elite League play-off aspirations of both clubs, has been swiftly re-arranged for Thursday September 4.

Swindon Speedway would like to thank Lakeside for their co-operation in quickly agreeing to the new date.

Great decision. Best to call it off early for all parties involved.

Quite so, now I can concentrate on doing something else today-christ knows what though! Good of Lakey to agree to the open date Swindon had a week Thursday, although I suppose they need to at least try to get points on the board in the run-up to the play-offs. It seems that the deadline has been shifted to 29 September-so beware Coventry, who have a better chance of completing their fixtures.

Isn't it the play offs that have moved to 29th sep?

Unfortunately the deadline is still 19th :( (even though that leaves 10 days free inbetween!)
