Halifaxtiger
Its not often I start a thread but its not often Plymouth fans do either. Another visit to one of my favourite venues and with young Mr Newman restored to the side Devils to take all three points, I think (despite the presence of track expert Mr Boxall). Plymouth: Ben Barker, Kyle Newman, James Wright, Rasmus Jensen, Josef Franc, Roland Benko, Zdenek Simota.Peterborough: Rider replacement for Lasse Bjerrre, Adam Roynon, Steve Boxall (guest), Ulrich Ostergaard, Ales Dryml, Max Dilger, Nicki Barrett. Halifaxtiger
Usual quality SBA meeting - for racing from the start and round the first two bends it really is the best in the country. There were a few cracking races too - Simota's win in heat 12 was superb. Peterborough were full value, especially Ostergaard and Barrett.

em1500uk
Nope. Not a good result at all. Could be a few more of those before the seasons end!
Halifaxtiger
A couple of other points: barker and Newman might be banging in lots of maximum heat wins but they should be split up as they ride the same line and Plymouth need some new music. I know my taste isn't up to much and the standard across the sport isn't good but rule brittania stoops to a new low. Encouraging to see a big attendance. lewy
We may not have the best team in the league but i think we see some of the best racing and entertainment week in and week out tbh, beating teams by thirty odd points with an obvious home advantage would do my head in

There were several instances of Devils riders baulking their team mates and nor is this the first time I've noticed this. Sam Simota was guilty of this on more than one ocasion, though if he continues to score as he has done recently, then I think I might be able to forgive him. Ben Barker recently seems to be focussed entirely on his own riding and hardly at all on his team mate. This seems to have been particularly since the Brummies folded. Such a shame because some of his team riding was right out of the very top drawer. Would be be alright with 'Land of Hope and Glory' or perhaps 'Jerusalem', HT? rogero
Mikeonthemic at Plymouth is excellent and gets a a good atmosphere going. Each to their own but I had good feedback from mates about the music. I recall Land of Hope & Glory being played at Cardiff a few years ago after Bomber crashed and the place rocked. I don't see the problem with a couple of 'patriotic' tunes ... many would no doubt enjoy it rather than some of the rock tunes. (Me I love heavy rock and classical). Mike if you are reading this keep up the great work, the music at The SBA is superb and a massive improvement form a couple of years ago. I actually don't mind the bloke in the middle but his music is simply dreadful, the only bonus being that you can hardly hear it (I am advised that that is because the locals won't stand it). The gang I stand with seem to regard it as a sort of a joke, to be seen as part of the entertainment because its so bad. There's a great deal of difference playing Land of Hope and Glory in a huge stadium with 40,000 people present and an international field of riders competing than playing it between heats at SBA during a league match in front of maybe 1,000. I think SBA is a terrific little place but with the best will in the world its difficult to see it 'rock'. MikeyT was my updater on Friday and when I complained about the music he responded by asking if The Wurzels had been on......

Depends who this is aimed at - "beating teams by thirty odd points with an obvious home advantage would do my head in" - perhaps I misunderstood?
