Somerset Cases Rebels V Ipswitch Witches. 22 /8/ 14

Recommended Posts

Disappointing but not totally unexpected.

Ultimately a result that makes no difference to how the seasons honours will be shared out but the Witches will need find a way to do better away at the top sides if they have any hope of lifting the big prize.

Hopefully Allen and Kurtz are OK.

Olly Allen is a bit sore but likely to be fit for Somerset's next meeting, sadly Brady Kurtz has a fracture to his upper arm which is likely to keep him out for a few weeks.

Not good news - effectively could be out for the rest of the season then.

A colleague at work has recently been signed off for six weeks as a result of a spiral fracture of his upper arm

Thanks for the update 'Srem'. Wishing Brady a speedy recovery. It would be a shame and disaster if he missed out on the playoffs assuming we still make them. Hopefully Olly will have recovered sufficiently well to be effective. Could do with another few points in the bag. Most importantly though is that the riders have no I'll effects when recovered.

Precisely why the Witches don't deserve to be in with a shout of the "big prize" (which isn't actually anything big). The injury to BKurtz also shows exactly why the play offs are a lottery in speedway - because it really dents the Rabbles chances, even of getting through the idiotic mini-group stage.

You can say exactly the same about Somerset then, because, as mentioned above, they're no better at Foxhall

Apart from Mazares and later, Worrall in heat 15, Ipswich were pathetic, cannot believe none of them can gate or race wide, most races they were tailed off. Chris Louis interviewed on centre green and he didn't seem interested either, should have given Hopwood more rides at least he was trying. Bad crashes to Ollie and Brady, thought Brady crash was too much youthful enthusiasm as he was going wider and wider to try and get his 15 point max. Forecast is he will be out 5 or 6 weeks, even 5 weeks takes us into Play Offs so will Gary May pull another masterstroke and sign someone brilliant on a short term basis.

JBM

Somerset only managed 25 points at Ipswich earlier in the season, so 31 is pretty good.

True, I'm wondering if you would have made 30 if Olly and Brady had completed their rides.
