Workington V Glasgow Pl Fri 22nd Aug 2014

Well Done to our Scottish cousins, having Comets fans with us at every meeting this season have a dig at us all season this makes up for it slightly.

You have to feel a bit for the Comets Promotion, the side that they put together looked a really good one and certs for a Play Off place but is looking increasingly like they could well miss out.

what/who are thr big clubs??

Edinburgh & if the Dale Devils were still riding and did i say Edinburgh they are quite a big club correct me if i am wrong but they have nine letters in there name so yes that is a big word for a club.

I don't think it was personally...

Glasgow are not excellent, Workington bar grazjonek have been below par all season

Great by Jason Bunyan, hopefully he gets an offer from a big club now

Why am I thinking about chocolate and eating oneself?

One of the worst results I've seen at DP involving the Comets, yet strangely enough saw some of the best racing??

I honestly thought Lykke would have been the one to benefit from our weaker than normal reserve pairing but, not a bit of it, that old boy Bunyan rolled a few years off tonight, best I've seen him in yonks!! :o

To be fair, Aarnio apart, Glasgow rode exceptionally well to a man, track really suited them, must have something to do with releasing the shackles of a tight/slow arse track to blast off round our's? ;)

Harrison, almost felt sorry for him missing out on his full max, but I soon got over it :D nah, rode superbly knew exactly where to put himself for maximum effect, some great passes thrown in to boot, memories of the old Rusty!!

For the Comets, well, something sadly lacking tonight, always seemed that despite the top races we were involved in you always got the feeling we were destined for the 2nd's and 3rd's and only four race wins back's this up, just couldn't get enough whereas Glasgow wanted more the more they got?

Jacobs looked a very handy young rider for the future, tried hard and got good points, looking forward to seeing him team up with Lambo, Josh, needs to press delete on that camera footage he was collecting, tried hard just didn't happen, Wells looked better/quicker at times but vulnerable when not in front, Rene got going too late really, Kyle faded after a couple of good rides and Mason just went backwards after a promising first ride, Benji again, totally out of his depth at this level but fair play to him for taking it on anyway!! :t:

Going to be a struggle to get a decent crowd for a double header on the back of the last two performances and with the long trip to Plymouth in between could get even worse should we do badly there as well?

Still, it's done now, I'll be back next time as usual whatever it costs coz, that's what I do, did it in 85 and 30yrs or whatever, it makes no difference to me!! ;)

Ironic for the Glasgow fans, a great result but an off night meeting few can get too, typical.... safe trip for those who were here, the journey home wont be anywhere near as long tonight!! :D

Just home and still pinching myself . After an opening 5-1 to Workington , i thought here we go again , but after that it was a magical Glasgow performance . Never since Shane Parker in his pomp have we seen such dominant away display from a Glasgow rider until Rusty Harrison tonight , some of his blasts round the outside of the track had to be seen to be believed . Such a shame Rene Bach spoiled the 18 point max in heat 15 . Not a one man band however , this was a superb team effort .

In saying that , the Workington track was superbly prepared , like a billiard table with just the right amount of dirt . Yes , the Comets fans will be disappointed at the result , but they have a track that gives up superb racing like we got tonight .

Workington look like a team bereft of confidence , they are much better than we saw tonight . I hope they can get it together again . Joe Jacobs looks a decent addition however , how Peterborough think a dud German is a better option than him is beyond me .

Just had to quote that cos it was only a couple of weeks ago when I was waxing lyrical about Rusty this season and how awesome he has looked at home blasting round the boards that you were disagreeing with me :P

What? A female remember and cast up something said weeks ago? never! I just dont think I've ever had the chance before to say 'told ya so' to you :P;)

well done Glasgow always nice to see Workington get beat due to your own forum troll in Jenga who funnily enough hasnt commented!!

Give him time mate, give him time, if he was there last night he's probably in no fit state at the moment to post anything!! :D

Also makes a nice change to see "any" Comets fans post on here, shame it took a thrashing to bring them out? ;)
