Race For The Play Offs 2014

Recommended Posts

Will be surprised now if Lynn actually top the league, the way the other 3 are going atm. We need away points at Coventry and Leicester to have any chance or just hope the others mess up each other's chances. And I'll be VERY surprised if we make the final!

I honestly think Kings Lynn will stay top esp with Pooles current issues. Bjerre, Kerr & NKI looked very good against Swindon.

(I may have missed it but out of interest are Rose or Blackbird likely to be back this season?)

Remember when you visit Coventry, they now have no Garrity, Howarth and Hansen with Possibily no facility for the latter.

Out of interest Star Fever, who do you think have the biggest chance of stopping your title bid?

Poole issues - I assume you mean Ward? Has anything been confirmed yet? IF he's banned I agree their chances wouldn't be as good with guests but knowing Poole they've probably already agreed with the authorities that they could replace him with Holder or Hancock for example even though the date for new signings has passed!

Swindon have already shown they can beat Lynn on aggregate so IF we don't get back to our early form they'll probably do it again, plus we have Schlein injured & Rose out and no replacement atm (as far as I'm aware both Rose and Blackbird are out for the season btw).

Coventry are unpredictable - yes we could win there next week but it might not be enough if they or others pick up away points elsewhere. Their win at Lakeside last week was pretty awesome!

Depending on the Poole situation I'd prefer Coventry in the semis and if we make it past them Poole in the final (if they make it past Swindon!).

Current top 6 (home pts lost v. away points gained):

Lynn +16 (4 more away so max +32) (1 more home so min +13)

Poole +13 (4 more away so max +29) (2 more home so min +7)

Coventry +11 (4 more away so max +27) (6 more home so min -7)

Swindon +2 (2 more away so max +10) (2 more home so min -4)

E'bourne -1 (6 more away so max +23) (2 more home so min -7)

Lakeside -1 (2 more away so max +8) (2 more home so min -7)

Unlikely that the lowest 2 will manage to get away wins on current form so Swindon pretty safe as long as they don't lose at home and Coventry same even if Lynn win there next week.

Poole only need one away win to pass Lynn, so Lynn need points away to make sure of top.

Unfortunately this assumes that all these teams will complete their fixtures which looks doubtful atm (as usual!).

Now that Coventry have replaced MJJ with BEN BARKER! Can not see us winning a semi let alone final

You serious???!!

In that case that reduces Coventry's chances somewhat....

Think top 4 will be: Kings Lynn, Coventry, Poole, swindon

My prediction based on current form home & away

Kings Lynn v Poole

Coventry v Swindon

Final of Kings Lynn V Coventry (couldn't predict the winner)

Big blow for the bees with Ben Barker replacing MJJ. Really weakens them now (not sure the logic behind it)

With that in mind I think now if they make play offs they will struggle to make final unless rest of the team really give 100% to make up for it. Big ask though with only 2 heat leaders.

Really shame as bees were looking team to beat

MJJ was only here for the money or to test engines. Was never committed and never will be

At least Barker will turn up and get stuck in, you know he'll always give you 100%

That uncommitted MJJ averaged over a point more than getting stuck in Barker this season in the EL.

Give me an uncommited 6.5 man ahead of a committed 5 point man every time!

Barker had a poor start to the season but was getting better. MJJ would have flaked out in the play offs Barker wont.

Good change by Coventry and as long as they stop Poole i will be happy

This week we have gone form Lynn looking a but lost, a bit out of it to Poole picking up injuries and ban and now Coventry weakening the team and giving up. What next?

Everything is falling into place for the Wiltshire massive isn't it.

Kings Lynn v Swindon final.

Poole and Coventry/Eastboune will bow out in the semis.

Would like that as Swindon have beaten KL both times on agg this year.

Also Swindon is my home team but used to live in KL so they would be my choice if we are not in it.
