Berwick V Newcastle August 23rd

Recommended Posts

there is a silence !

Probably cause its really not that important, a typing error in a press release didn't ruin for me the fact that we gave our nearest rivals a good thrashing and we're still in good shape to make the play offs, Matty is hopefully back next week and with a full 7 riders again we can have our best finish for a few years.

Surely someone did not get it spectacularly wrong!!!!

I think it will be Jensen.

Whoever the second reserve for next month, Berwick cant lose either way with Kus or Jensen.

Think you mean Matej Kus

it would take a helluva change in the averages to get Kus, Bellego and Jensen all above Wethers.

Sorry, you are right, but the only possible change would Jensen instead of Kus

I note Matty Wethers is the September reserve.

Newsletter 1, Fannies nil?

The averages haven't been updated on the BSPA site, the last issued updated averages was the 21st August, since then we have raced four meetings though it would take a helluva change in the averages to get Kus, Bellego and Jensen all above Wethers.

are they the rolling averages or what they are actually averaging at the moment

Yes, I like them, or at least they are far better than the month to month average fiddling that used to go on, of course this system is still open to abuse but it takes that bit longer.

I'm guessing publication of the September averages -- tomorrow? -- will be eagerly awaited!

Personally I cant see what the fuss is about, Mathew Wethers, as it said in the newsletter the other day, will be the Berwick reserve for September, the club wouldn't release a newsletter to their supporters that was that factually wrong.

Septembers averages.

1 Claus Vissing 7-96

2 Kevin Doolan 6-79

3 Matej Kus 6-94

4 Steen Jensen 6-68

5 David Bellego 6-26

6 Mathew Wethers 6-15

7 Alex Edberg 3-84

Hopefully Matty is ok to ride again soon but if he needs a bit longer there are some intersting options for guests out there with the 6.15 available, Josef Franc on 6.11 or even Jacob Thorsell's el avergae of 4.14 would fit, shows how much closer the 2 leagues are when Berwick could use an elite league second string to guest at reserve :approve:

Berwick announced that Wethers will return this Saturday for the Redcar match, one thing is clear though, now Wethers is moving to reserve he must be fit enough to take a possible seven rides, as IMO he will be the key rider for any play-off ambitions we have, if that means he sits out racing and just gets a practice in for the next week or two then so be it.

But you are correct, the guests we can call on is very impressive.
