racers and royals
When a meeting is cancelled before 8 completed heats, the entry fee receipt is valid as a ticket for a meeting of "similar" type.so what you are saying is-free entry to the Qf home match ?? Ghostwalker
so what you are saying is-free entry to the Qf home match ?? For those who have a receipt from yesterdays meeting I'd say that is likely but I have not seen any confirmation though. That is standard procedure for meetings that are rained off before 8 heats are completed. Earlier years you got rain ticket when you paid the entrance fee, but since the clubs have to have cash registers nowadays, the cash register receipt have replaces the rain ticket for the same purpose, that you get a free entry to another meeting of a similar type. Basically it's there so you shouldn't have to pay twice for the same meeting. Also quarter-final parings have been decided, Rospiggarna picked Smederna: Tuesday August 26th: Quarter final leg 1:2 Ikaros Smederna - Rospiggarna Dackarna - Indianerna Both QF will be televised, but main focus for next week is Indianerna-Dackarna. Tuesday September 2nd: Quarter final leg 2:2 Rospiggarna - Ikaros Smederna Indianerna - Dackarna Edited August 20, 2014 by Ghostwalker

brandonbee48
Speedway, Norrköping Tonight NT could reveal that the wolves leave WO towards smiths. The reason is all about the club's strained finances. The battle to decide which team would get the playoff run was stopped after seven heats in Eskilstuna. As the leading blacksmiths at home against Wolves with 24-18 when the rain came and put a stop to all the possibilities to determine the duel on Tuesday. The teams sat in long meetings before agreed a new date. The match would be run on Wednesday instead. Now it's not that either. It is the club's already stretched finances behind the decision. - The board has been in session now, and decided to leave, we will walk over to the game. The main reason is the short time that it gets to a playoff game when we lose more time. We do not feel we have time to sell it properly and dare not risk anything with the season we had behind us with too little income and more rain matches already, says Johan overpriced. He left the dramatic announcement to the NT port shortly after midnight. - It's obviously very sad to have to take such a decision, but we feel we must do it. It is particularly sad at the drivers who are so keen to this, and to get a playoff run. Thus ends Wednesday's match, according SVEMO regulations 45-0 to smiths who can thus look forward to a playoff game as Wolves thus miss now. For the fifth consecutive season. - There's this news I can give right now, we have been told that the meeting this evening about the situation that has become. Can it get more dramatic decisions in the future, as to request a sit down in the headlines because of the economy? - No, there should not be any danger. Now we leisurely start working for next season. We have had good control on spending this year, but failed on the revenue side. Translation (somewhat) of the remarks of Vargarna's chairman. Shame as , despite "my team" going through, I am a firm believer that all sports should be decided (in speedway's case ) on the track. It was an absorbing scenario with Smederna needing to win by 12 and 6 up after 7 heats. Now we will never know. Regards. Alan.
Iwan
I'm told Eurosport TROE (The rest of Europe) will only air the semi-final and final because of USA Open tennis. Probably this will not be the case for Eurosport UK.

Probably this will not be the case for Eurosport UK. We (GB) have already been told that the QF`s and semi`s are to be shown "delayed live" ie full programme same evening-the finals are live see http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=77494 Hopefully the Poles etc will have access to a stream for the QF`s

Ghostwalker
Just for fun, in case anyone is interested (Sam Ermolenko?): this is how you pronounce Swedish club names. The stresses syllable(s) are given in capitals: Vetlanda = VAIT land a (as in BAT) // not even close, the E is long and hard and definitely no A in it. Rospiggarna = ROOS PIG are na // this is close but more like Roos pig arr nah. Indianerna - IN DEE are na (as in natty) // no this is not right more like In-dee-aahn-err-nah Piraterna = PI (as in picnic) RART er (as in err) // Peeraath-err-nah Vastervik = VEST er veek // Westerr-week Dackarna = DAKK are na / Dakk-arr-na Smederna = SMADE er na // Smedh-aer-nah Vargarna = VAR YAR na // Varr-jar-nah In general our I are more like your e and our E doesn't really have a match. vowels at the end of words are usually have a short and hard pronunciation. Its the same with a and e in the middle of the names above. Short and hard. vowel with one consonant after is pronounced long and soft while vowels with two consonants usually is pronounced short and hard. I.e. Smederna, first E is long and "soft" while the second E and the A is short and hard. In Swedish letters it would be Sme-därr-na An anecdotal fact is that Rospiggarna once was nick named "The pigs" by Billy Hamill in a radio commercial. It was something like " come and see Smederna vs. Rospiggarna, you know "the Pigs". To be fair on him he was tricked into saying it, he was hesitating but was told by Smederna that "we say it all the time" which obviously wasn't true and it Swedish the word pigg have a different then the English word and is in this case referring to a wasp or the wasp's stinger.
