pandorum
I thought I saw some crazy refereeing at Brandon last night but blimey, this referee just took bizarre reffing to a new level. Stupidly dangerous decision not to put the red lights on, he should be taken to task for that. Feel a bit for Berntzon even though he could probably have got up, don't blame him for staying down when Doyle was clearly well out of shape and should arguably have been excluded. he did put them on. And the red flags went out Pawel not paying attention . Very lucky both of them. Correct decision to exclude Berntzon in heat 6 with no contact from Doyle. true but Doyle still caused it

Always a tough one when a rider gets out of shape in front of you. Always feel it should be "All 4 BacK" but iknow someone has to go and there will always be differing opinions as to who. Bummer only getting the last lap of heat 7 because of the ads. Who bigged up Zengota earlier.? Iwan
But why did they wait so long with the red flag?
brandonbee48
But why did they wait so long with the red flag? I'd have to see it again but i thought they got 2 flags up as soon as it became apparent that Berntzon was staying down. I think it was Prezedpelski who was a bit asleep at the wheel. Luckily no one got hurt. Oh we speedway fans are a patient lot aren't we?
pandorum
Got to agree with Alan I saw red flags before they got around bend 4. Pawel just asleep at the wheel there.
brandonbee48
On a positive note , from past experience, the Swedes are very good at getting a RACEABLE track after a downpour. "Optimism " is my middle name. Just hope they stay with it and not call it a day like they did last week. Our saviour last week with a stream from C-More is at the track!! Ghostwalker
They have a motorgrader working with the track. It doesnt rain at the moment but more rain is on the way And just as i writr that it rains again. smederna really unlucky with 1.5 in heat 7. I had expected a 5.1 there. Ref was too late with the redlights. Wrong call as well. Doyle made a mistake and Berntzon didnt have much choice there. Meeting off after 7 heats. Who knows? Safe trip home and thanks for letting us know. Regards. Alan. I don't know at the moment, usually postponed meetings are not televised since Cmore have a budget for each season and it usually don't allow any extra meetings being shown. I'll keep you updated though. Smederna wanted to have the re-staging tomorrow, Vargarna want to have it on Thursday. It has to be finished before 20.00 on Sunday though since that is when the away teams' line-up declarations is due. New attempt tomorrow at 19.00 Swedish time. Scheduling conflicts for Doyle, Michelsen and Kenni. Kenni wants to ride for Smederna but uncertain if Munkebo will accept that. Ghostwalker
Meeting will NOT be televised so you'll have to manage with live scores. I don't know what the lineups will be yet but it is likely that it will be know in the morning.
Ghostwalker
I got quite a surprise when I woke up this morning. Vargarna have decided to hand Smederna a Walk Over for tonight's match. Vargarna's chairmen of the board says that Vargarna won't have time to sell/market the play off properly and therefore they decided to hand Smederna a Walk Over. Vargarna will be fined for this and it will cost them 25'000SEK (£2200GBP) in fines from Svemo. http://nt.se/nyheter/vargarna-lamnar-wo-mot-smederna-10073939.aspx I don't know but does 1 day really male that much difference? Anyhow the quarter final pairings should likely be the following: Rospiggarna - Ikaros Smederna Indianerna - Dackarna Edited August 20, 2014 by Ghostwalker

Ghostwalker
That`s Speedway for you-seemingly farces don`t only happen in Britain and Poland !!! Vargarna's decision also means that those spectators who attended the meeting yesterday will have a rain ticket for the qf which means that Smederna won't make so much money on it as they normally would. Also for the second straight meeting, Smederna's meeting was attended by both the current and a former National icehockey team coach; Per Mårts and Curt "Curre" Lundmark. racers and royals
C more will have cameras at both matches next week-1 match is on there main sport channel(which is the one we will see in the UK) and the other match on c more extreme. As far as I can remember we don`t get to see any races from the other meeting. Vargarna's decision also means that those spectators who attended the meeting yesterday will have a rain ticket for the qf which means that Smederna won't make so much money on it as they normally would. As you saw 7 races yesterday-is it something off the next meeting admission ?? Edited August 20, 2014 by racers and royals
Ghostwalker
As you saw 7 races yesterday-is it something off the next meeting admission ?? When a meeting is cancelled before 8 completed heats, the entry fee receipt is valid as a ticket for a meeting of "similar" type.
pandorum
And we think Brit speedway is bonkers The PO format is a great but the downside is that it is rushed when rain affects it and rain affects a lot of speedway. I wonder what Vargarna fans think about this especially when they were favourites to go through after last nights results

With the QF and SF both being back to back meetings.
