Dodger Blue
I think they said it was a back injury, sure I saw him standing, chatting to his family towards the end of the evening, if it was him presumably its nothing too serious
Mimmo
I think they said it was a back injury, sure I saw him standing, chatting to his family towards the end of the evening, if it was him presumably its nothing too serious He walked past me at the end of the meeting. He looked as though he was feeling pain from his back. On the 27th April, we set a club record at third tier level (National League) with our resounding 71-19 victory at Scunthorpe, the biggest victory since joining the league in 2009. Lo and behold what should happen last night other than we not only beat the same team by the same score, but it set up a club home highest win. The previous best was 68-25 v Isle of Wight (13.06.2009) and 67-24 v Scunthorpe (02.04.2014).

And at a mind-blowing total of 142-38 it MUST surely be an all time aggregate score for two league matches in any season in any division ever..! Bagpuss
It must also raise the question of whether these Scunny lads are actually improving......
lucifer sam
It must also raise the question of whether these Scunny lads are actually improving...... Anybody watching the meeting last night would have been aware how much the Scunny lads improved from Heat 1 to 15. Early on, Moggo was the only one who could near to the KL riders. Sam Chapman improved massively during the close of the night, beat the much more experienced James Cockle, and would have won Heat 15 but for a flat tyre on the final bend. Reece Downes reeled in Darren Mallett in Heat 10, but couldn't pass him. Sam Woods also became more competitive as the night wore on. Bagpuss
I'm sure they have improved from the first race to the last in most matches but from meeting to meeting is where we should be seeing the real improvement. Hopefully the scores don't reflect the progress some of these lads are making and it would be nice if the same seven can come to the tapes next year and start to get a bit closer to teams and perhaps win some matches. I think you're also forgetting last night was hardly representative. The King's Lynn riders have 15 riders to get dialled into the track, whereas the Scunny boys started the second half cold. It really told in the first half of the meeting. On the other hand, the second half of the meeting was excellent. Strangely enough the meeting that ended 71-19 probably edged the one that ended 51-39 in terms of racing! Allitt Racing
While I agree Rob. Our riders were also getting tired and were hardly putting everything on the line in the second meeting. That said it's good to see some of the scunny lads improving.
Bagpuss
That's a fair point, and the better performance at Mildenhall on Sunday didn't go unnoticed. Personally I just would have expected a few more competitive scores five months into the season but I appreciate its a long term project which I wish every success. TMW
P.S. How much do you want for Marc Owen? He's yours anyway

That's a fair point Dale, it was a bit of both, the Scunny lads getting dialled in and the Young Stars starting to tire. In any case, it made for some fine racing in the closing few races. Meanwhile, good news regarding Danno Verge, who has escaped with bad bruising and nerve damage to his foot - nothing is broken. Fullmax
Does anyone know what became of the junior rider Ryan Goodger. Was friends with his parents but lost touch with them a few years ago and at the time I seem to remember he was a very promising rider but I've heard nothing about him in recent years.
