lucifer sam
Double dose of NL action. The A47 roadworks were due to be completed by now.... has that happened or is it still traffic carnage. All the best Rob

Mimmo
Looking forward to the double-header at the Norfolk Arena tomorrow evening, and it'll be great if not just the Mildenhall fans make the trip, but also if the Scunthorpe fans can muster up enough enthusiasm to come along and cheer their 'Stags' on. The clash against local rivals from West Row is going to be a tight affair I'd have thought, and the result could go either way. With regards to the meeting against our Lincolnshire friends, much depends on how the weather holds ...out, because the forecast is not good, and I fear the first meeting might take it out of the track. However, if all is well, one would expect a substancial victory for the home side. But having seen them at Mildenhall on Sunday, they are no where as bad as their results would suggest, with one or two shining lights in their septet, none more so than Arron Mogridge and Sam Chapman, who are prepared to play second fiddle to none. One down side is that the start time remains at 7.30pm, which means it will be 9.00pm at the earliest before the second encounter gets underway, and I just fear we could be getting to the point where only staff and riders will still be in attendance.......plus me and Maureen of course!! The referee must keep is finger super glued to the 2-minute button like they do in Southern Track Riders and Dragons meetings. If a restart of a race is called for a minor offence, keep the pit gate shut, as the riders should have no need to return for adjustments to their machinery, that should have all been sorted a minute earlier. If for any reason the riders and officials turn out to be naughty boys and girls wasting a lot of time, then worry not, as I'm sure that Dale or Buster will have made sure that full English breakfasts will be available from about 3.00am onwards, so the only other thing you need to worry about is bringing a sleeping bag and hot water bottle. So look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.........................and maybe Thursday morning too. As Uncle Len used to say, "MAKE A DATE, DON'T BE LATE, BRING A MATE". lucifer sam
Mimmo, what forecast are you looking at? It looks fine for tonight. As long as I don't have too much drama shifting furniture in the afternoon, I'll be up for this one. Would be pleased to see the Stags hit 30 again, but we'll see how it pans out. lucifer sam
Isolated showers according to our local BBC forecast. Hopefully Saddlebow Rd won't get one! Light isolated showers as well. Shouldn't be a problem - I've seen Buster cope with much worse. Fully expect this to be on, and will be very annoyed if it is not. Hopefully Darren Hartley is not the ref!! All the best Rob

All the best Rob Don't care who the ref is as long as he/she keeps their finger firmly on the 2-minute button. Buxton comfortably get through a meeting in 90-minutes, in fact if memory serves me right, Scunthorpe have finished a meeting even quicker than that. I wonder what's the fastest time a 15-heat meeting has ever been completed in. It's still a lovely day at the moment, and the BBC on-line forecast predicts only a 30% chance of showers. Hope you manage you make it Rob.
greyhoundp
Im thinking this will be a double win for The Young Stars, with the returning Tom Stokes down at reserve that gives them added strength down at the bottom end, Scott Campos seems to have upped his game recently and tonight will prove if its a temporary thing or at last has he found the fastest way round a speedway track, Marc Owen is slowly finding his pre injury form, for Mildenhall Josh Bates will be a big miss i doubt they can adequately cover his rides which swings the meeting in KL,s favour. Im sure The Stags will put up a brave fight but obviously only the scoreline remains in doubt, just a couple of points here Rob, I dont understand why the Stags persevere with Steve Jones, yeah he may be an older head, but really thats all he brings to the Team, his scores are not much better than a youngster would get maybe a couple of points difference, 2nd point i would have thought maybe you would have tried to get Luke Harris to ride, he is certainly worth a Team spot somewhere. Kent Whistle Gang
I reckon Mildenhall will pip us (Kent Kings) for 3rd spot, so we're hoping we can grab 4th at the expense of both King's Lynn and Stoke. Tonight's match up against Mildenhall is phase 1. Stay safe everyone but come on you Fen Tigers. Have to say though, they look disappointingly weak on paper compared to the Young Stars septet. Also, listen out in case the match commentator forgets it's Aaron Mogridge riding for the Stags tonight, and not Dad Alan; our mic man got it wrong a couple of times despite telling everyone in advance that he would be on his guard. P.S. How much do you want for Marc Owen? Edited August 20, 2014 by 1st Bend Bunching

Bagpuss
Well done to the Young Stars for collecting all six points, and particularly to Lewis Rose for an excellent five ride max against Mildenhall.

All the best Rob 19-points doesn't really do their efforts justice, and as I said on Sunday, you've got two good 'uns in Arron Mogridge & Sam Chapman. I also thought guest Sam Woods put in a good performance too, and is finally beginning to show some development. Glad you were able to make the journey from your Oxfordshire home, and that the meeting finished in a good time, thanks to all concerned.
