Swindon V King's Lynn (21/08/14)

Not so much that we need these points, more to the point that we need to perform. To get back on to that huge pedestal we occupied at the start of the season, we now need to exert ourselves in the front of our play-off rivals. Although we beat Belle Vue away, we have lost 3 out of the last 4 matches away.

We are more than capable of getting points here, but most of all we want a performance, fitting of the league champions, that we are trying to achieve.

Anything less and we shall lose that momentum.

Season has gone a bit flat for me - not helped by me having to miss a couple of meetings, and a bit of a disjointed few weeks fixture wise. Stars deffo need to ramp it up again as the 'orrible Pirates are looking good at the moment and could easily beat the Stars in the play-off which would be real bummer after we have dominated things this year

Looking at that latest forecast, I've decided to scrap the idea of going to Swindon. I'm not going all the way down to Wiltshire for a possible rain off. Hadn't looked at a local forecast until late last night and it looked slightly iffy then. It certainly looks a lot worse now.

For any Stars fans that do dare to make the trip down, I hope you actually see 15 heats of speedway!

Doesn't seem to be too much wrong with it to be fair

but it's obviously a fair way to come. Should be a good meeting...think it'll be close...48-42 to the Robins

No...not on the forecast link you've provided  It's dry in the evening! But I'll go with the BBC... I'm just not prepared to drive for 4 and a half hours and also pay for overnight accommodation where there's a slight chance of seeing no racing! If it was more local, I might have taken a chance.

Porsing still feeling the effects if his crash in Poland on Sunday, Sam Masters guests at 4 with Robert moved to 2. Porsing probably having the week off due to the U21 WTC on Saturday

I'm led to believe he's been dropped from the world cup team...

As someone who studies weather forecasts intently, the BBC the one for Swindon for today is completely different to all the others, including the Met Office.

Really? Any idea why and who had taken his place? Seems daft that he's been dropped after scoring ten in the latest U21 individual round.

EDIT just seen that he is declared in the Danish squad in the FIM website.....

Really? The Met Office and BBC both had the same forecast this morning at 8am! Either way, I made the decision not to go and I'm sticking with it. If it goes ahead and it stays dry, oh well! I won't cry over it.

No idea why. Just what I'd heard.
