Grand Central
I am at a loss on this now. If Darcy has 'learnt his lesson' and is showing remorse in public, by word and deed. Then presumably he is acknowledging his total guilt in this matter. Has he contacted the FIM at any stage to say that he does not contest the charge?
TheReturn
Thats the problem with this forum. Many on here just make it up as they go along. They think they know, but they don't. They just try and make themselves look good. People arn't stupid. Darcy showed plenty of remorse last night. So as far as you lot are concerned you can think pretend you know or all surmise all you like. you know nothing. He is meant to be a role model, so he needs to do far more. Where is the public statement explaining his actions were wrong, and does not condone drinking whilst operating motor vehicles of any kind, especially in racing environments. Do that, and people may start to believe he has learned his lesson and actually respect him a little. Talk of hydration is irrelevant, he should not be drinking to excess when racing within 24 hours (IMO). We all know Poole fans are totally blinded by their blue tinted glasses, but I would love to know if they would all adapt the same stupid 'defence' if the rider was say Harris or Nicholls who rode for other Coventry/Swindon/Belle Vue etc... I suspect not! Edited November 13, 2014 by TheReturn

OR by the same token, if it was another rider say Harris or Nicholls, they wouldn't be vilified in quite the same way Ward has been because they don't ride for Poole (or Piraterna or Torun)! Dornier
I`m the same as everybody on here. Don`t think WARD should have to wait six months for his two year ban. ....
BWitcher
Of course Darcy's face is showing he isn't happy... it's hitting his pocket. Nothing new in the length of time with regards to Ward waiting. This was mentioned way back in the beginning that other cases have taken a similar amount of time. OR by the same token, if it was another rider say Harris or Nicholls, they wouldn't be vilified in quite the same way Ward has been because they don't ride for Poole (or Piraterna or Torun)! Harris never gets any stick does he.

I doubt it will be 2 years..............very unlikely............especially if they back date it to when he was first suspended which they should do............. norbold
He didn't need to say anything, it was written all over his face. Oh well, that's all right then. If it was written all over his face no need for him to make any oral or written apologies. That's good enough for me...er....

I have been away from speedway for too long to have any support for a team, but if Poole supporters keep putting anyone who criticices DW attitude/actions into the same mold as Poole speedway haters I could just start not to like Poole supporters. As for Chris Harris,I have been critical of his GP performance during 2014 (though I have also said he looks an exciting racer). I judge things as I see them, irrespective of what club or even country they ride for.
Popular Post E I Addio
Clearly having a whole day to re-hydrate is more than enough for most riders, but not if the meeting is rearranged for the afternoon when the testing is done earlier. Seems like another Poole fan had swallowed the Darcy line. Re-hydration has nothing to do with the rate alcohol leaves the body. Darcy failed the breath test because he had too much grog the night before. There can be differing opinions on the appropriate punishment but the fact that he failed the breath test was nothing to do with rehydration, it was purely and simply that he had a skinfull the night before and it hadn't left his system when tested. That's all there is too it. Edited November 13, 2014 by E I Addio

As a person, i think Darcy has done his time. And no, i don't know anything, except what i do know is the FIM are stringing this out. Now will you all get off the lads back. Im sure you have better things to do like play with your Abacus's or build buildings with your Leggo.
hyderd
Darcy ward is a fool to himself, his talent on a speedway bike is unquestionable, however he needs to learn when 2nd is good enough and take his speedway responsibility's more like a professional. If he could be as professional as G Hancock is then the sky's the limit with his talent, sadly I doubt he will.

WembleyLion
Darcy Ward did wrong and (has been) will be rightly be punished! I also hope that those clowns at the FIM (who have been 'overseeing' this farcical process) are suitably admonished as well!
