waiheke1
Darcy admitted he had drunk the night before. The only reason he thought he had drunk too much is because he failed a test. If the test was flawed, then his "confession" of drinking too much is surely invalid?
mothorsen
Darcy admitted he had drunk the night before. The only reason he thought he had drunk too much is because he failed a test. If the test was flawed, then his "confession" of drinking too much is surely invalid? With proof gone, his statements are invalid, as he can go back on them anytime he'd like. He admits to drinking the night before, but not to being under the influence on the day itself, so unless there's any evidence, the case probably will be dismissed. norbold
There should be a law against failing to rehydrate....
Pirates Of Poole
Getting a bit of joke from FIM with regards to a hearing for Darcy, They took 11 days to suspend him and now a long time to arrange a hearing! If this was superbikes or F1 this would have been wrapped up with 7 days lawyers included! Goes to show the FIM stance on speedway!

E I Addio
They are probably trying to find someone to explain to them what it actually is! Or perhaps they are trying to find someone to explain to Darcy who he is, where he is and how he got there.
Fromafar
Or perhaps they are trying to find someone to explain to Darcy who he is, where he is and how he got there. They are trying to find out how many times Darcy has re-hydrated in the past and what were his reasons for this.

HenryW
Getting a bit of joke from FIM with regards to a hearing for Darcy, They took 11 days to suspend him and now a long time to arrange a hearing! If this was superbikes or F1 this would have been wrapped up with 7 days lawyers included! Goes to show the FIM stance on speedway! I'm not sure that it does say anything about the way the FIM views speedway. Admittedly I can't think of any case where any other top line motorsports competitor was stupid enough to fail a breath test, so there isn't a direct comparison. However, as has been mentioned before, it falls under the FIM anti-doping regulations and I can think of a couple of recent examples of how slowly things move with other cases. Three time World Supercross champion James Stewart failed a drugs test on the 12th of April this year. He was provisionally suspended on the 20th of June. As far as I am aware he is still awaiting his hearing. In 2012 Anthony West failed a drugs test at the French MotoGP round on the 20th of May. The FIM hearing for that case didn't happen until over 5 months later, and the final penalty (after an appeal by WADA against the leniency of the initial ban) wasn't known for over a year. So it's not just speedway, the FIM don't tend to move too swiftly regardless of the sport involved

Don't care about Ward or the Poole promotion, but I do feel for some of the fans. It must be painful waiting to see what the outcome will be and when it will be delivered. He's well and truly dropped them in the mire, the selfish little *****!
TheReturn
He's well and truly dropped them in the mire, the selfish little *****! You are spot on, but somewhat comically, some of them still try and defend him which is the irony. Does anybody know how Ward's actions/suspension is being viewed at his other clubs across Europe? Pirates Of Poole
Darcy has let the club down again and time and time again we use him. I think because he is such a talent we ignore what comes with him but how much more can you put up with, this will be a second playoff he will miss. Next year I hope Matt builds the team around Chris & Jack Holder and Brady Kurtz. Edited September 11, 2014 by Pirates Of Poole

Ghostwalker
STEFAN Andersson has resigned as Swedish team manager after receiving abuse from some fans in Sweden after including him in the Piraterna team two days after his failed alcohol test in Daugavpils... at which time, of course, Ward was still in possession of his racing licence. C'non now this is old news (about 3 weeks or so). And abuse? There were some criticism but abuse? I seriously doubt that and I doubt the criticism is the reason to his resignation. The same day as he resigned Antonio made a comment that he would boycott the national team as long as Stefan "Ando" Andersson Skill was a team manager for the national team. The criticism was that he picked Darcy despite the failed alcohol test. People were aware that Darcy at the time was allowed to race and that Ando did not break any rules but people thought Ando should have made an example that these types of incidents are unacceptable, especially since Ando had said before the season that he wouldn't tolerate any "scandals". However when ultimately faced with the dilemma he took the "easy way out" by including Darcy in the line-up in a sort of "winning at all costs" way and regardless of his previous comment Ando was also sitting on two chairs since he was both team manager for Piraterna and the National Team. He chose his employer over the national team by picking Darcy to ride for Piraterna. Comparison was made to what Vargarna did when Kasprzak was "caught" tampering with his silencers. KK and/or his mechanics quickly disappeared with the silencer in question and nobody was able to prove anything. Despite that Vargarna took the decision that KK wouldn't ride anymore for them at all. A decision that they honoured despite that KK was a very important rider for them. Edited September 11, 2014 by Ghostwalker
