You said it yourself you have made a couple of big mistakes in your lifetime how are you entitled to be judge and jury.?Look we all no he has stuffed up he needs a bit of help i hope he gets it i hope he regroups and comes back stronger.

Get real Sid, it's more than a couple of mistakes.

In 2012, it looked that Darcy had the speedway world at his feet..

Look at him now, a drunk that has made little or no progress..

Very sad, (given the guy's talent)..

Very harsh - but - very sadly true.

And I avoided the bit about evading the police on an unlicensed vehicle.

How many chances do some want to see him given? Even if he is as close to God gift as we're ever going to see on a speedway bike.

I like Ward the rider but Ward the person is throwing his life away. If this was Tai or anyone else I would still be saying they need a ban. Problem with Ward is he has so many past indiscretions that it shows what he is like. This isn't just a one off mistake in his career he has a whole list.

As for Ward, whatever ban he receives matters not to me, I just hope he is hit hard in the pocket by being fined and, more importantly losing some sponsorship. I believe this would deliver better results in encouraging him to give up on the laddish behaviour and concentrate on maximising the huge talent he is so lucky to have been gifted with.

I agree with Gavan..

Even a one off transgression of failing a breath test by anyone is deserving of strong punishment, and that includes a ban.

The fact this thread has gone on for 76 pages (and no doubt some more) is, IMO, due to the fact this is not Wards first indiscretion and he doesnt seem to be learning. I do detect that virtually everyone wants to see DW the exciting rider fulfilling the full potential he has. However that is up to him, no one else, and if he decides to leave speedway and ruin his life some way then so be it, neither "you" nor I can do much to stop him.

Last night's GP proved to me that if Darcy Ward was to be suspended for 2 years or missed out on the GP's for 2 years it would be no great shakes.

There are plenty of great, exciting young riders coming through for the future and he'd be very easily forgotten.

Exactly what I said, did anyone miss him, I know I didn't ......

Agree with that. No one rider is bigger than the sport.

I think Pearson did, he only seemed to have one rider to fawn over last night. Even when another was lying injured on the track!!!

Have to agree,he is not the first rider to self destruct.

Darcy has been caught over the limit and should be punished. Yes, I agree with that, but how many Ward and Poole haters on this forum have been to a match, had a couple of drinks in the bar before the racing and then one or two more afterwards, and then driven home. You are just as bad.

Never! I stick to cups of tea or orange squash.

I am not a Poole or Ward hater, I have only seen the impact alcohol and driving can have on someone, 2 very close friends died because of it.

Yes he mentioned him, but not at the same level of concern he showed Hancock.

I think it was the severity of the crash, the way Gregs hand went under the mudguard etc....selective hearing from you Pearson/Tatum haters......As fecking usual.
