waiheke1
If you agree he's innocent until proven guilty, why would you want him banned now when he's still innocent? Hasn't he been found guilty, and is now effectively awaiting sentencing?
Blazeaway
Ward would do well to have a look at the latest photo's of Paul Gascoigne to see how things can go horribly wrong...
pandorum
Doyle got done for drink driving a few years back too and tried to use some excuse of being chased and so afraid he had to drive away! I don't think the police took that as a mitigating circumstance for his actions. Yes but had he hydrated
pandorum
It makes the whole of Speedway look like a "Mickey a Mouse" sport. But that is how most of the world views it anyway and I doubt anyone outside of speedway either knows about this or cares
SteveLyric2
Yes but had he hydrated ...and did he miss any meetings?
arnieg
If he knew about his parents break-up several weeks before, then perhaps the bad news he heard on Saturday was something new? Such as his local bar back in Aus going bust and closing.
Popular Post keyham
Why are people saying “it will be a great loss if Ward was not riding”? Ward is not Mr Speedway, Ward is not some hero of any sorts. Ward is a person the same as the rest of us who has a talent for riding a Speedway Bike. There have been many before him, as there will be many after him. Speedway will not end if Ward does not compete. There is putting someone on a pedestal and another making him some sort of God. Life will go on with or without him, for better or for worse it matters not, it will go on.

stevebrum
Bearing in mind Darcy Ward's disqualification in Sunday's Latvian Grand Prix round for alleged alcohol breach how is it that he has NOT been suspended from ALL Speedway meetings both in the UK and Europe until a disciplinary hearing has been held . It wasn't alleged. It was proven. How can he possibly be innocent!! Only blind and blue supporters could and would put forward such a nonsensical idea. Sadly some are. It makes the whole of Speedway look like a "Mickey a Mouse" sport. An athlete is banned straight away. Speedway is a dangerous sport and the disciplinary code should be enforced without fear or favour to any rider in the sport of a Speedway. I would suggest that the respective a Promoters both in the UK and Sweden should give their decisions some thought. I agree innocent until proven guilty but Speedway should take their own swift action in these matters, fortunately not a common occurrence!. It is and always has been, its only the die hard fans that stay faithful to the crap, whilst people on the outside laugh at how bad it really is. Even the old ones are dying out because of there age. Speedway imo has had its day in this country and will just continue on at slug pace just.
mickthemuppet
It has never been stated how much over the limit he was . If is only 1% over the limit its hardly a hanging offence is it. But if he is well over the limit that is a different story. So really we only have half the answer.

uk_martin
Reports of Darcy being "dehydrated" no doubt would have not best pleased his sponsors, Monster. With a limitless supply of the energy drink at his disposal, to claim to be dehydrated doesn't make Monster's ability to rehydrate and energize seem very good does it?

And i cannot believe he used that line. Crazy line of defence in the first place but considering he is sponsored by Monster absolutely suicidal thing to say. Like the rest of the sensible Speedway World i bet Monster are beyond themselves trying to accept this latest incident.
