Darcy being back on track IS good for speedway.

Back on Track - you are right. :t::approve:

Back in the GPs as a permanent, or any kind of Wild Card - I certainly hope not. :nono: :nono:

2016 is quite early enough for that.

I don't really do gambling , but I would have a quid on him being in the first GP after his ban expires Business has no morals , and Bsi have shown they care nothing for speedway outside their product , of course there will be a large contingent of Poole fans who will be all for his return at the earliest possible time, but in the main people who care about speedway and Ward as well , won't be so keen to see the red carpet rolled out for a troubled youngster ..

If Ward rides as a wild card any time this year I will seriously think about not going to the Cardiff GP next year (hotel booked and already got tickets for this year)

You cant commit a "crime", and expect any favours even after serving it, certainly when you virtually stick two fingers up to the "establishment" like he was doing on twitter/facebook on the lead up to his official banning..

I agree he should have to wait until he gets around to quilfying again properly, because if they give him a wild card it will be another mockery to speedway, but as speedbee say they are not interested in morals or scruples.

All they are interested in is making money and lots of people out there in the speedway world, can see no wrong in Darcy Ward or what ever he does, they just look at the way he rides on the track. If they can make a few more bob out of bringing Darcy back they will do. Post haste.

SO should the opinion of those "lots of people out there" defer to your view or not? It would appear that Ward has done what most people wanted by shutting up and serving his time. Perhaps at the very least the FIM should follow SVEMO's lead (with Lindback) and say that Ward will be tested for alcohol before any FIM event for the next two years at least.

Ward promised a statement some time ago now and nothing has been forthcoming, why is that ?

Is it because he is illiterate or has he been told to just shut the f**k up..

Agree that he should have to qualify for the GP's before he is allowed to appear again or wait until 2016 at least for a wildcard :t:

And so should everybody else, as ive said umpteen times now, any FIM event should be an ALL TEST.

Maybe he`s just decided that whatever the rights and wrongs, or whatever he may think privately, its best to accept his ban and move on with the rest of his career. Time will tell but he might now be maturing as a person and a rider, if so then I applaud him for that, he has proved he has the talent to be a top rider, once he has served his ban I wish him the best of luck in trying to qualify for the SGP series.

Surely this is impossible.

The guy has had his 'trial' and been 'sentenced'.

I do not see how it is possible, legally, to impose extra restrictions on him individually after such due process has been followed.

Obviously the FIM can change its alcohol testing methods at GPs and introduce a new rule for all riders, if it chooses.

But since I was last on this thread things have changed for me.

One p!ssed up rider is not the greatest danger the SGP faces, anymore.

It's the sober ones who cannot do a clutch start on a green light who are the real danger.

They can bring the whole thing to it's knees.

In the best interests of speedway, I think he should return to the GP at the earliest possible time where he should ride on a red carpet all the way to the podium.

So where is the FIM statement that Ward was going to respond to?? Stuck in the same desk drawer in Geneva that the FIM investigation into Warsaw GP will go?!

The FIM have passed it on to off-duty policeman Inspector Jacques Clouseau.

He intends to make a statement but there is a problem with the pheaun.

Darcy should go ahead and make a statement, along the lines of...

"I would like to apolgise to all the clubs that I ride for together with all their staff, but most importantly to all those fans that I have let down with my past behaviour.

I have now learnt from my mistakes and I will adopt a thoroughly professional manner in future. I would like to thanks those who have supported me during these difficult times and I look forward to racing again soon."

Would have a modicum of respect for him if he was so inclined...

It would be nice to see him make a statement along the lines of the one above, all we now have to do is wait until his ban id finished, I just hope that when that time comes that he dosen't come out with some utterly stupid remarks and spoil things, he did enough of that months ago.

I still feel that a wild card would be the wrong way to go, as it would then look like he had done nothing wrong, he should have to re qualify even if it meens waiting untril 2017, he is still young enough to become world champion, that is if he can keep his dirty washing aired.

He as never ever qualifyed for the GPs, always been handed a wild card & turned down a wild card the one year. He is taking the ban, keeping tight lipped, so after his ban is up then lets see one of the most entertaining riders back in the GP

Aaahhhhh - there's the rub. Will he have to Qualify for 2016 - or - will he be given a Permanent Wild Card for 2015. If that happens it will be an absolute disgrace.

Who makes the decision? Anybody know? Because if it is that paragon of Speedway organization BSI :rolleyes: - I'm pretty sure I know what the answer will be.

Do you think he is capable of composing an apology like that?

Personally - I have my doubts.

if he came out with a statement similar to that , i would not believe one word of it . he lacks the brains to string 2 coherent words together , so it would have been written by someone else . a statement claiming I'll try not to do anymore stupid things or I'll do my best not to get caught again , would be more likely to have come from him . but whatever statement he makes only an idiot would believe he means , because if he decided to steal a car or take drugs this afternoon the consequences would be the last thing on his mind
