Regarding Sidney & Starman, the one thing i will say, they do watch a lot of LIVE speedway. I take it you dont ?? The reason i say that is, your quote in Lamberts post, saying how impressed you was. I assume you live in Suffolk or Norfolk ? if so i find it rather strange that you hadn't seen him ride before ? So am i right in thinking your just a armchair speedway supporter!!

For all either of us know, Gavan could have gone to every single Ipswich meeting last year, home and away. Thats a lot of speedway but he wouldn't have seen Robert Lambert live. Doesn't prove a thing.

They both sit at a computer every day (based on how often they post on this forum) but I doubt if either could build a computer given all the components in a box - same goes for 95% of people. And we all spend money every day (or at least every often) but that doesn't make us all banking experts, in fact I doubt if many have even heard of Fractional-reserve banking so have no chance of explaining what it is and how it works.

But, if watching something a lot makes you an expert starman should spend some time in a pub, he can learn what drunk is then!

Not by everyone - certainly not by me. People are entitled to their views and I respect them for that. I do not necessarily agree with them though.

Increasingly on this Forum there is unpleasantness toward other Members. I don't like that. I can be quite acidic myself at times but I never deliberately set out to wind people up, and in some cases get them banned. I thought this Forum was for the enjoyment of everyone - not somewhere that those with opposing views should be vilified and pilloried.

I am sorry - but that is the way I see it.

Oh god the forums concience is back.

So you enjoy reading the same inane repeated nonsense and the agressive/offensive posts then? That is what is lambasted. If the offenders wrote sensible and readable posts designed to engage and debate then they wouldn't be ridiculed.

I challenge you to review this forum and see how many posters it happens to, I think you'll discover it's the same two or three on each and every thread whereas the other 99% of us can discuss things in a generally friendly banter type of manner.

Nope. He sells the Speedway Star just inside the door at Poole which somehow gives him free admission. I could be wrong, but it's pretty common knowledge at Poole.

Yes - can't argue with that. I also note that it is the same half dozen people who keep ganging up on certain Forum Members.

Most Posters on here do not get involved in such childish practices.

Oh god the forums concience is back.

If you are going to call me the conscience of the Forum - at least have the good grace to spell it right.  :D :D :D

I would deny that anyway - I am just asking for fair play to everyone - or - do you object to that.

It's a bit of a surprise to find the Archbishop of.Sunderland jumping to the defense of certain people who are, themselves, so aggressive and borderline abusive in their postings.

I pray that His Grace will look upon the really worthy with more forgiveness.

no your completly wrong. I live in Essex

back in the early 80's i used to go Rye House a lot and Ipswich. I was about 7 at the time.

Ipswich won the league in 1984 so we started to go Ipswich all the time but still Rye House on a Sunday afternoon.

Lakeside opened so occasionally we went there as its 20 minutes from my house.

We also used to go to Hackney on a Friday night and stood against the pit wall, which is where my uncle used to sponsor a 15 year old Mark Loram who we still remain friends with to this day.

We followed Mark around as much as possible like when he was at Lynn, Eastbourne and Lakeside but was quite difficult when he rode for the likes of Exeter and Wolves, whilst all the time going to Foxhall on Thursday nights.

Im myself got married in 2003 and my wife likes speedway and we went to many tracks maybe 2 -3 meetings a week. She was a big Scott Nicholls fan and we made trips to Coventry when he wasnt an Ipswich rider.

I have 2 children born 2005 and 2009. This coupled with the increasing prices means neither of us go as much as we used to, maybe 10 times a season and basically only to Ipswich or still the odd trip to Lakeside.

So to answer your question im probably more an armchair fan than some on here but i used to go 3 or 4 nights a week when i could.

This doesnt mean i know more or less than anyone else.

It also doesnt mean i need to argue with everyone like Sidney

It also doesnt mean i am fool and a troll like Starman.

Many many times ive said i value peoples opinions and am happy to debate.

Its not the anti Poole crap that get banded about as there are many many decent Poole fans on here.

Sidney and Starman are the 2 people on here who cause most issues with people thats a fact as shown by everyone not just me

Are you positive that sort of thing happens on the BSF?

I do not 'gang up' on anyone.

I dont suffer idiots and i get wound up dealing with one in particular.

i draw anyones attention to the Jerran Hart thread when a certain poster was completly wrong. Was told by everyone how wrong they were yet still called peoples names and responded with child like comments.

when told by everyone he was wrong he could not apologise yet still hurled insults.

yes i responded but it winds me up that someone is that pathetic.

I had a good debate with Poole fans at the start of last season as i said Magic would be a weak link and would cost Poole.

What i then did was hold my hands up at the end and say how wrong i was.

There is no bullying on here.

Check which posters hurl the insults then get back to me

The reality is WK, without meaning to, you are a big part of the problem.

The situation generally plays out as follows:-

Starman/Sidney come out with something nonsensical.

They are corrected and given the reasons why their nonsensical comments are wrong.

They can't act rationally, stamp their feet, refuse to accept it and hurl abuse at those who have corrected them.

The odd poster like yourself then chimes in giving support to such childish actions and hence they continue to do so.

If no-one speaks out - then the situation will just go from bad to worse. THAT is why I am Posting as I have done on here.

IF that is the case - which I would argue isn't always true - are those hurling abuse back not just as bad. Everyone on here makes daft Posts sometimes - I have had to apologise on here a number of times.

I just wish everyone could 'get on'. Not agree, but at the very least 'get on'.

Without the hostility it isn't necessary.

I direct my comments to Starman and sidney, myself, and everyone else.

You must have seen a lot of Loram, i was such a big fan of his. I was fortunate enough to watch him alot at Wolves & Exeter, was a bad year for him at Wolves by his standards! Only the other sunday at Sheffield i got him to sign loads of photos for me

Absolutly mate.

My uncle used to give him £50 over the pit wall at Hackney on a Friday night and we had some great times with the Loram family including his mum Vi , Dad Paul and his grandad who we used to call 'pop'

My aunty was his biggest fan and he gave his 1997 British final winning race jacket to her. My aunty died in Feb 2000 and Mark came to the funeral so unfortunatly she never saw him become world champion.

Still see Mark at Foxhall now and again

Mark never really hit the heights in league racing but had a good year at Poole in 1999 and 2000. That was in the days when the Poole track was good lol. The track he hated the most was Peterborough and he had a poor year there in 2001.

No Jacques - I don't. Sexism is very wrong too. I do the ironing in our house. :t:

So YES - I condemn that as well.

(unless, of course, it is in a humerous context).

You're not wrong but not entirely accurate.

Starman does indeed sell the Stars, he also helps to put up the netting and removes it after the meeting (you know, when we're all in the nice warm bar after the meeting). He also ferries riders to and from airports if required and various other bits and bobs, In short he's one of those volunteer helpers without whom most speedway tracks wouldn't function. Personally I don't begrudge him the free admission, after all I wouldn't do what he does for £17.
