Ghostwalker
I'll let others comment on whether they believe there are any differences or parallels with the Ward case - I'm sure there will be plenty!! I can give you a few parallels: Even if you are a mega star, the FIM WILL give you a ban. Stewart is a multiple world champion but FIM still handed him a 16 month ban. Hearing took place more then 3 months after the offence took place. Both are first time offenders (when it comes to competition offences). Neither alcohol or amphetamine are performance enhancing substances according to the prohibited substances list and I guess you could designate both as recreational substances although amphetamine also could be used for medical reasons. So it is very obvious that Darcy should be given the same treatment. Edited February 9, 2015 by Ghostwalker
Popular Post Arson fire
Far be it for me to try to defend Ward - but - perhaps if Testing was compulsory for ALL Riders he may not have. We will never know the answer to that one. For me, a two year Ban with one year suspended would be about right. It would start from the beginning of the 2015 Season. personally i couldnt give a monkeys if hes banned or not.... Its the constant excuses, harshly done too, poor Darcy, bums on seats, sport needs him brigade that make it sickening.... The sport doesnt need him at all, its survived for years with and without better riders than him.

Trees
Absolutely, Wackie. Darcy's "misfortune" and possible loss to speedway hardly rates alongside the loss of Tom Farndon, Peter Craven, Tommy Janssen, Vic Harding, Lee Richardson and many many others sadly. Bloody hell u can't compare these tragedies with Darcy. Actually if anything, because of what can happen in this sport, gives more strength to Darcy's case to race again. He is just a speedway rider, a very good one but that's it !!!!

I think it is an insult using his name when you are referring to these other riders. Edited February 9, 2015 by theknow 2

Surely these people losing their lives on track is only further proof the sport is dangerous enough without someone riding while drunk or on drugs. I'd also add tired, concussed and generally unfit to the list too.

Not to mention "dehydrated" from drinking as much Monster Energy Drink as he can can handle, free of charge from one of his main sponsors... TheReturn
I have a question, what do the fans of Ward's Swedish and Polish clubs feel about it all? Are those fans acting as stupid as Poole fans are about it all, and bleating about his innocence too?

Are those fans acting as stupid as Poole fans are about it all, and bleating about his innocence too? Some people definitely have the same opinions as the Poole fans. Not all of them are Piraterna fans though. Darcy's Swedish team manager (Stefan Andersson Skill, (the former speedway rider)) have also expressed some concern/complaint about FIM however those comments have been more toned down and definitely not as strong worded as NM/MF's comments. Are those fans acting as stupid as Poole fans are about it all, and bleating about his innocence too? I don't think they give a rubbish in Poland as "his" club Torun have been sold and basically run out fo money so he wasn't going to be back there anyway. A few Swedes have tweeted about him being treated badly but Piraterna have offered him a team place for this season despite saying last year it was his last chance - and thats the issue, Poole and Piraterna said last chance but have both given him another one before he's even allowed back on a bike again by the FIM!! Arson fire
True, but it isn't exactly booming either.i agree, though id like to think Darcy needs speedway more than speedway needs Darcy... No rider is bigger than the sport.

Stefan said something like that he wouldn't tolerate any wrong doing by Darcy but as you know, Darcy was allowed to race in the meeting at home against Dackarna just two days after his failed the breath test in Daugavpils. Then as you say the have also contracted him for the upcoming season. So in the end Stefan's statement was just empty words.

Let's wait and see what the FIM have to say.

pugwash
is it then?? I'm certainly NOT condoning it but I've seen plenty riders boozing the night before a GP only some people on here prejudicley believe that Ward's the only one done it, although i think we all agree that he foolishly goes OTT. But hey 'it's what all the young ones do these days, isn't it?'. Edited February 9, 2015 by pugwash
