Ghostwalker
Simply being a dope isn't quite the same thing is it? Do the FIM's regulations specify what substances are banned under it's generic heading of "doping"? This may be of more interest to Patryck Dudek fans than Darcy Ward fans. FIM uses Wada's list and you can find it here; https://wada-main-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/resources/files/wada-2015-prohibited-list-en.pdf Some substances, like alcohol, is only banned during competition for some sports (mainly different type of motorsports). Star Lady
Be interesting to know why the date has been put back again. I had little sympathy for Darcy up to now but if this postponement is nothing to do with his legal team etc, I'm beginning to feel for him and especially his clubs and crew. Pull your fingers out FIM.

uk_martin
Hearing pushed back again, now 30.01 is the date. I bet the airllines and hotels are getting well hacked off with all the cancellations and rearrangements of his travel plans lol FIM uses Wada's list and you can find it here; https://wada-main-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/resources/files/wada-2015-prohibited-list-en.pdf Some substances, like alcohol, is only banned during competition for some sports (mainly different type of motorsports). Page 10 then - Unlike "drugs" which are banned, end of, no dispute...alcohol is NOT banned, as long as it is not above a set limit at the time of the competition. Go above the limit, Mr Ward, and no matter what other excuses you have, you fall foul of the regulations. Well that document is very black and white...but let's see how many shades of grey the FIM can magic up eh?

Any penalty can be reduced by upto 75% of the 4 years if alcohol is demonstrated to only have been consumed 'out of competition' even though discovered when tested 'in-competition'! Time served in 'temporary suspension' would/could be credited against any remaining penalty! Edited January 8, 2015 by Skidder1

Pull your fingers out FIM. Nah, if he hadn't been drunk, he'd not be in this mess now. Simple. Being messed around with the dates is the least of the punishments that he should get. My prediction is that the weight of the BSI Box Office / Poole Pirates Management will be brought to bear, Darcy will get a 2 year ban, 1 of which will be "suspended", less "time served", less time off for good behaviour, and he'll be free to ride again on 15th March.

mickthemuppet
There must be something wrong with the FIM case otherwise they would not keep putting it back. There case is too weak. No evidence offered. Case dismissed

SteveLyric2
Stop messing about. You were there, just spill the beans already! Another interesting segment from the WADA regs is that 'any hearing should be held in a timely manner'!!. Also whether guilty or not, there are several examples of the grounds that the accused can appeal on any aspect of the case either on or since the alleged offence was tested for! The maximum in Ward's case will be 2 years as it was at the time of the offence, and the suspension period will be counted in any ban. Yes I agree and made a similar point back in September, but just thought I would quote from the updated 2015 regs - which have been available to participating organisations eg FIM, since October 2014 - assuming the FIM are signatories to the document?! Ghostwalker
There must be something wrong with the FIM case otherwise they would not keep putting it back. There case is too weak. No evidence offered. Case dismissed I doubt that since they I doubt they would have suspended him if they didn't have proof. Also compare this to cases Dudek and James Stewart, both could explain how the forbidden substance had gotten into their system, while Darcy does not have anything to blame. Be interesting to know why the date has been put back again. I had little sympathy for Darcy up to now but if this postponement is nothing to do with his legal team etc, I'm beginning to feel for him and especially his clubs and crew. Pull your fingers out FIM. Well neither club are/were forced to sign him and his Swedish team took a gamble and signed him anyway despite that they didn't know if Darcy would be available for 2015. So if Darcy is unavailable for them this season, they only have themselves to blame. Edited January 9, 2015 by Ghostwalker

Could be that some of the delays were due to Darcy's advisers as well as FIM
Grand Central
I think some people may need a tutorial on the usage of hashtags on twitter. Otherwise their knickers will be well and truly twisted before the end of the month. #Imhunglikeadonkey Edited January 9, 2015 by Grand Central
