theknow 2
JUST checked with BSI and that info is wrong ... expect a retraction soon. Been changed as they want him in and trying to get more bums on all those empty seats Dont need Aus, just look at sales for the new Warsaw Gp. PHILIPRISING
UNDERSTAND ticket sales for Melbourne are pretty impressive, too. Jason Crump has been doing some great promo work. The tough part will be getting people to keep coming for five years. Know lots of people in NZ in general and Christchurch in particular who have already bought tickets and booked flights with Melbourne the city being quite a pull for them (great shops!). Not changed Andy, it was never the intention. But if Ward is free to ride then of course he would be the logical choice to add a few bums on seats and perhaps earn a place in the 2016 series.

Guest
Only 4 days late with the news then. Thanks Echo!! Reading the story, I think the 'Echo' used a mention of Darcy Ward as a lead-in to point up the comments in regard to enterprising Poole's plans to race in Australia. mickthemuppet
With Speedway trying to establish GP's in the Southern Hemisphere , they would be stupid not to have Darcy Ward in the Australian GP next year. This could be the difference between success or failure. Lets hope everybody sees sense and he is allowed to ride.

This could be the difference between success or failure. Lets hope everybody sees sense and he is allowed to ride. The Australian GP is irrelevant in this case and no consideration should be taken to it. All that matters is the rules that he broke and that he should get a punishment that does not take any consideration to who he is. He might be one of the most talented riders ever but in the end that does matter either because you cannot have different rules for different riders. This is also why this in not about Darcy Ward but about a speedway rider who got caught being over the allowed alcohol limit during a competition. It does not matter if that rider is a hight profile GP-star or a PL-rider most people never heard of. The rules has to be the same for both, the punishment also has to be the same for both, You cannot start make up your own rules that this or that rider should get a "special treatment" just because he is GP-star or because he is "needed" to bring some extra spectators to a GP. If you start having (although BSI have already started) different rules for different riders then you are on a very thin ice. No it isn't common sense. It should have no bearing whatsoever in the end verdict.

But would another defaulter be villified on the BSF in the same way as Darcy Ward has been on this thread? He's been victimised even more than Chris Harris has been. I suggest you cut out the grizzling and try and be a lot more positive..
waiheke1
No it isn't common sense. It should have no bearing whatsoever in the end verdict. Agree it should have no bearing on the verdict.but I think most would agree that 12 month ban would be sufficient, in which case ward would be available. That being the case, it would be surely a no brainer to give the Melbourne wildcard to darcy.
