Wackie
There are 50+ pages on the Coventry v Poole thread that state that anything Sky demand, you have to go along with!! ps. Nice interview with DW in today's Bournemouth Echo. Oh please! You make it sound like they held a gun to his head! Ward wasn't at Poole in any official capacity on Wednesday he was under no obligation. Thanks for the heads up about the article. Good interview, should clarify a few things about the rider DW. No, not really. So he's spent a couple of months getting fit and tuning his engines. Most dedicated, professional riders spend a lot longer preparing over the winter months than that. I may have missed it, but I've still not seen an apology anywhere from Ward to his fans or clubs who he's let down, or for bringing the sport into disrepute again following his most recent misdemeanor. The White Knight
Australian riders have a long history of competing in England, and mostly their behaviour is exemplary. Mr Ward has made some mistakes and now the whole world has a comment. Stop carrying on like a bunch of football hooligans and let him get on with his job. I haven't seen the interview so i cant comment on that. Don't all good speedway riders have self belief, even English ones. Personally i would like to see him come back stronger than ever, and look forward to seeing him crowned world champion in Melbourne one day. That would justify the sacrifices; riders that live and work on the other side of the world have to make. Perhaps then the hostility will disappear. I am sure that most Speedway Supporters in this Country would love to see Mr. Ward back on a Bike and doing what he does best. In case you hadn't noticed though Mr. Ward has got himself in to certain situations where he has run up against the Law of our Country in one Case and against the Speedway Regulations in another Case. Both Cases were very serious offenses. I have not heard one word of apology for either Case. (I may be wrong - but I certainly haven't heard any such apology). He just comes across as someone who has no regrets regarding his actions - or that is the way it seems to me.

As has been stated before - but undoubtedly lost in the mists of time anger - Darcy apologised to Poole fans and sponsors at their end of season Awards night, last November. Grand Central
As has been stated before - but undoubtedly lost in the mists of time anger - Darcy apologised to Poole fans and sponsors at their end of season Awards night, last November.Ah I remember this being said. If only we had been given advance warning of the one-time-only nature of his sincere apology offer. That it would be available within the limited time frame of that night and would last for just the duration he was being interviewed. That once. Done and dusted, After which he was washed so clean by the appreciative applause that any further expressions of any minor level of regret over the whole affair would be excessiive. I wonder if Tony Blair has considered the wondrous cleansing effect of a South Coast Awards night? His reputation and legacy could be restored so simply. . mdmc82
So when is Darcy releasing his statement? He promised one over 40 days ago now. If it's anything like the interview on sky then he might as well not bother.

SteveLyric2
His lawyers raised certain questions within the 21 day period - stopping short of an actual appeal. I believe his lawyers have recommended no further comment - which might go some way to explain the interview on Sky!!
John Leslie
So when is Darcy releasing his statement? He promised one over 40 days ago now. He's waiting until Jerran Hart gets out so they can issue a joint statement

norbold
Sorry to return to this thread but has anything been decided about Darcy Ward's points for Poole that should now be deducted and its ramifications for the 2014 Elite League title yet? Have I missed it somewhere?

Have I missed it somewhere? It's history, time to move on... I am not a fan of Ward or Poole, but he was not banned when riding for Poole and there was no suggestion he was riding under the influence so why would his points be removed? Because the body that controls the sport, the FIM, passed a ruling that they should. A small point, I know. But sufficient reason, nonetheless.

Grand Central
Then they should have banned him immediately his GP breath test failure came to light, not allowed him to continue riding. In your, and others, view. But not so according to the FIM code.
