SCB
And Poole, in my personal experience, the best promoted Speedway in the UK. Totally agree, As much as I may dislike Matt Ford the way he runs the club on race night and the way he promotes Poole Speedway is what everyone else should be aspiring too. No doubt all this praise of Poole is confusing poor starman (and Phil Rising)
pandorum
Whatever side of the fence we are on, time will tell. But I find the vitriol aimed at Ward by some on here rather sad and do wonder whether he rode for anyone other than Poole it might be less so. I don't mind Poole they always have some entertaining riders. Call me old fashioned but I have no respect for scum that abuse women and lets face it Ward and his mate were not exonerated during the trial it was just because nobody was sober enough to know what really happened. As to his drink and drugs antics and your childish attempts to brand anyone who dislikes ward a Poole hater. They say more about you and him than anyone here who dislikes the little scroat.
Trees
I genuinely think that he wasnt bright enough to understand the prompts from Pearson and Tatum. Or perhaps he hasn't read the 380 pages of vitriol on here, has already said his bit shortly after his misdemeanour (apology etc), wants to put it behind him and so answered how he did.
nw42
I didn't have you down as a 5 year old. Ask any non-Poole fans their thoughts on Magic Janowski and I bet the vast majority will tell you he's great, on and off track. Ask non-Poole fans their thoughts on Darcy Ward and most will tell you he is a pillock who is bloody great to watch on a speedway track. Just because someone rides for Poole doesn't make them the anti-christ. I said numerous times last season I was a Milik fan, I admited last night I'd sign Magic in a heart beat if I was a promoter, I'm a fan of Kyle Newman. But because I don't like Ford, Middlo and Ward I'm a "Poole hater" according to some. For a Poole hater I spent an awful lot of time in the company of Poole fans at Cardiff last year, had a really good laugh with them. My comments on Darcy are because he's Darcy Ward, NOT because he's a Poole rider. Frankly, having to see/hear/read the likes of you, Nigel and Kelvin (the speedway media basically) fawning over him just makes my dislike of his greater. I have to question what he has to do before one of you says anything negative about him. Bang on the money. Nobody will question his talent, he's great to watch. Most sports have their bad boys and quite often they are among the most naturally gifted in their chosen field, bad boys can be good for any sport but they generally have an attractive side to their personality, most fans forgive their transgressions because they love seeing them perform. Unfortunately Darcy Ward hasn't yet really shown us that side of himself, at least I've not seen it whenever he is interviewed. I wasn't too keen on Holder when he first started over here, I liked watching his all action style of riding but to me he came across as really arrogant, I've long since changed my stance on that one, Chris Holder almost always interviews well. Didn't Holder spend a lot of time around Greg Hancock at some point, I'm sure I recall that being the case, wintering maybe? Either way he changed for the better, maybe Ward will get similar guidance and grow up, I hope so. Edited June 4, 2015 by nw42

I am not ante Poole (though after Monday night - I must confess to having thoughts that way). Everything you state is correct. All this slavish devotion to Ward is, in actual fact, not doing him any favours. As for the Interview - he should have stayed away from the cameras - I can see why SKY wanted him on screen - but he should have simply said NO. SteveLyric2
So pleased there are so many more closet Poole fans!! Is it 'coming out' day?? I know its a public holiday in Poland, but all this pent-up hidden love for Poole is quite overwhelming!1 Maybe, as DW is about to sign for another EL team then any further Poole references - especially negative ones - may dwindle? we can only hope............ PS. I hope DW got paid for the Sky interview - its not as if he's earning at the moment and he looked a little downbeat I thought! Is it mere coincidence that Magic is mentored by Greg Hancock, and like Hancock comes across as a fair, sporting and reasonable sort of bloke that is a credit to the sport. Ward is mentored by Muddlo and like Muddlo his behaviour and interviews do little to enhance the reputation of the sport. FUNNY how different people can watch the same thing and come to totally different conclusions. Or perhaps their prejudices colour their judgement or alternatively are too biased. Who knows? It is not a question of prejudice. Speedwáy may be a minority sport in a poor situation but the genuine fans do like to see its ambassadors conduct themselves with a degree of dignity and decorum. In all honesty do you think Middleditch's rantings in a Speedwáy Star and especially social media do anything at all to endear people to Poole Speedwáy or enhance the reputation of the sprt in general ? The same goes for Ward's off track conduct. Edited June 4, 2015 by E I Addio
Red Panda
I felt that in the interview Ward was very 'neutral', as if he didn't really want to be there. I agree that he would come across better if he was humble, but that's difficult if it's not genuine I totally agree it was as if he did not really want to be interviewed and did it because if it was known he was there and did not do a TV interview in might be construed as ignorance...............you could see he felt uncomfortable about it and I also think the Tweedledee and Tweedledum were wrong to push him as much as they did................ It should have been left until Darcy was ready to face the media rather than be pushed into it................... RP
Leicester Lion
It was like Ward was briefed prior to the interview, but only took half of it in and didn't know what to say. He forgot his lines about what he’d learned by watching Greg Hancock and blurted out the obvious thing, the gating. Pearson and Tatum gushed all over him, making it all as easy as possible, but he even failed to take their blatantly obvious prompts which would have helped him at least indicate some contrition, genuine or otherwise. Instead there was no hint of regret, either in his words or his manner. His confidence about getting the wild card at Melbourne betrays his sense of entitlement; that speedway owes him opportunities and status, regardless of others who might have emerged to stake their own claim while he’s been serving his ban. The interview was a great chance for him to show he has grown up, has a fresh approach, feels repentant for his misdemeanours, and is determined to turn over a new leaf. None of these came across. While there is no doubt about his talent, he did nothing to change peoples' minds about him as a person.

Ozrik
Australian riders have a long history of competing in England, and mostly their behaviour is exemplary. Mr Ward has made some mistakes and now the whole world has a comment. Stop carrying on like a bunch of football hooligans and let him get on with his job. I haven't seen the interview so i cant comment on that. Don't all good speedway riders have self belief, even English ones. Personally i would like to see him come back stronger than ever, and look forward to seeing him crowned world champion in Melbourne one day. That would justify the sacrifices; riders that live and work on the other side of the world have to make. Perhaps then the hostility will disappear.
