Guest
So that do Poole do now? Best to contact Poole? I wouldn't think that the "BSF experts" on the Darcy Ward saga have the faintest idea! Edited March 7, 2015 by Guest

Popular Post TheReturn
I picked up and purchased the Speedway Star last night after some of your comments to see what stance the magazine took on all this. It reinforced my belief (rightly or wrongly) that the Speedway Star is not for the fans, it is still trotting out what the clubs want it to trot out. In this day and age of the internet, I think the magazine needs to reinvent itself somehow (just my personal opinion). With the Ward matter, it is right it is discussed, and it tries hard to sit on the fence, but it still ends up being a Ward excusest and a publicity machine for the Ward/Middlo spiel. The 'unsavoury' comment allegedly coming from fans on Twitter and forum sites was made, yet where was the criticism of the Ward sycophants who could be suggested to be responsible for boosting Ward's thinking he is being treated badly? Giving Middlo a platform to once again trot out his 'handling of the whole affair atrocious' spiel was laughable, maybe that could have waited a week or two? It primarily blames everyone for Ward's problems but falls short of saying this entire mess is ultimately Ward's fault, which is the truth of the matter.

A clever piece of writing that initially appears to be a neutral stance yet at the end is as one-sided as the opinions it is supposed to be contradicting. TheReturn
A clever piece of writing Thank you.... I am glad you liked my writing, and the only response you can offer is to be sarcastic, I guess that means I hit the nail on the head. Plus I am not a journalist writing for speedway fans. bigcatdiary
I would bet a pound to a pinch of salt it would not be Ward but his lawyers, if they did take on the FIM, they would be the ones advising him. Of course they would, only Lawyers earn out of this dispute, hope wards got big pockets. IN Speedway Star this week Neil Middleditch says quite emphatically that DW should take his punishment on the chin, service his ban and rebuild from there. Indeed, a nice well balanced report Phil and you make some good points. Personally I think Middlo,s been told to wind his neck in.
weatherwatcher
Maybe my e-mail to the SCB about Middlo's stupid rants on Twitter and in the papers did some good and they told him with a quite word in his ear to keep his mouth shut. Something has been done to reel him in. If Darcy is silly enough to sit and listen to his legal team who are only there to grab an extra few bob out of him, or as most Aussie's would look at it they are there to fleece him, just like some poor old sheep being sheared, they he is dafter than I thought. He has far to many idiots, who tell him what to do and 9 times out of 10 the things that they tell him only get him into doing something wrong.. He would be far better just riding out the last few months of a very leniant sentance and then get on with his life, in a far more sensible manner than he has done before. Because if he carries on in the way he has been doing these past few years then very shortly Darcy Ward will just be a long lost memory of a young rider that could have become world champion, but went totally off the rails and burnt himself out. All that people will remember of him will be all the bad things, that he got up to. Such a waste of a rider who could now be further up the speedway ladder than he is now. Just hope he see's sense and changes his mind about taking on the FIA, because things could end up far worse for him than what he is getting now. He needs someone to take him under his wing and straighten his life out for him. No Drink, No chashing after women, just buckle down to riding speedway, but as far as I can see from him, he is not learning any leasons what so ever and before very long, he will be in big trouble again. That could speel the end of his speedway riding, that is if the people who back him finally see what a spoilt little brat he is and deceide that enough is enough, who wants to emply a habitual trouble maker, it looks like Poole certainly do, also can't see how his sponsors want to keep backing him as he can't be a very good figure head for their company. Best to avoid confrontation with them, that Sepp Blatter fella is a tricky customer, wants to move the Speedway WC to December. DW would have been better dealing with FIFA. A brown envelope for Sepp and he would be back riding already.
weatherwatcher
Hit the A instead of the M. Never mind who ever Darcy decides to take on or his bunch of henchmen, he would have been far better to have just let sleeping dogs lie. Got on with getting his life together during his time away from the tracks and then coming back, stronger both in body and mind.
