SCB
Congratulations to Graham and Carol Parry who have had their letter published in the Star today-this is the first part. "My Wife and I have been following speedway for 51 years and we have never known anything as unfair as the Darcy Ward case " I think you can guess how it goes on- where`s the bucket !!!! Any letter in the start that starts with, "i have been following speedway since..." Or "I have been a fan since 19..." should be ignored. Popular Post BWitcher
Middlo continuing his utter ineptness on Twitter, retweeting the following.. Neil Middleditch retweeted Surely if Darcy Ward had murdered a member of the FIM he would have been sentenced, done his time and probabley be out on parole by now It really is little wonder the sport is regarded as something of a joke by the mainstream media when you have a team manager consistently spouting utter, utter nonsense via social media. When will the BSPA/SCB grow some balls and rein this guy in? Edited February 19, 2015 by BWitcher
Grand Central
Any letter in the start that starts with, "i have been following speedway since..." Or "I have been a fan since 19..." should be ignored. It's up there with all the other classics ... 'With all due respect ...' 'I'm not racist, but.....' 'Some of my best friends are gay ...' All signposts that say KEEP WELL CLEAR ... In NEON on their forehead.
racers and royals
I have to admit I don't get the Star any more. I gave it up about two years ago after just over 50 years as a devoted reader when I discovered Angus Kix wasn't writing for it any more. Which book? What does it say? Not really a "plug" but a mention -Peter Oakes has written a long article on Rye House-new owner etc and the start of one paragraph goes "In the introduction to 70 years of Rye House Speedway, author Norman Jacobs traces the club`s history." Maybe you ought to rush out and buy a copy Edited February 19, 2015 by racers and royals
E I Addio
Congratulations to Graham and Carol Parry who have had their letter published in the Star today-this is the first part. "My Wife and I have been following speedway for 51 years and we have never known anything as unfair as the Darcy Ward case " I think you can guess how it goes on- where`s the bucket !!!! I have just read the letter. Breathtaking dim. All it basically says is that Mr and Mrs Parry think the matter has been going on long enough and the FIM should get their act together and bring it to a conclusion. Apart from that there is are no special observations on the case, no insight, no analysis of what has gone on, nothing we didn't already know and in particular the fact that they have been following the sport since the year dot has nothing to do with what they next say . Even by the average standard of SS letters it is pointless. Then again I suppose the clue is in "my wife and I have been following speedway for 51 years.........." He says in Speedway Star "Darcy's solicitor told me last week that in 27 years of studying Law and being in court everyday he has never known anything as ludicrous as the timescale on this case" More utter rubbish from Muddlo . Any solicitor of any seniority would not be in court EVERY day for 27 years for the simple reason that they have a business to run and they have junior staff and barristers to cover most cases for them. Anyone with even the most elementary knowledge of these things knows that any form of judicial process is often subject to much longer timescales than this, as the FIM rules show. I wouldn't take a lot of persuading that that's someting else Muddlo made up. Muddlo is becoming a laughing stock and a disgrace to the sport.

It went to court in January 2011. 10 whole months, was closer to 11 in fact. All that time with that possible conviction hanging over my head. It's amazing that I didn't top myself with all that pressure. I guess I could have pleaded guilty when I got the letter about 3 weeks after the offence and then waiting a month for a letter telling me of my punishment but I chose to prolong the whole thing. Also, a Mr Darcy Ward was accused of sexual assault on August 17 2011 but didn't go to court until 10 May 2012. That was 9 months! Obviously Darcy is using a different solicitor this time

And equally nobody knows that he'd not just got back from the pub where he'd had 4 pints with his lunch and was way over the limit. But they're still defending him! The White Knight
No good trying to tell this biased lot mate. It just falls on deaf ears.. Pot, Kettle spring to mind. As does most of the biased rubbish that you Post on this particular Thread. Your Posts are normally well worth reading - but you have let yourself down badly over the subject of Mr. Ward and his transgressions.

Your Posts are normally well worth reading Nice to hear, i don't get to many compliments on here.. Nobodys debating that Darcy shouldn't get some form of punishment and he probably will the likelyhood being get a suspended sentance. Sha'l i write that bit again for those on here who are a little focally challenged ? but many on here just want to hang him out to dry. No pun intended.. not much more i can add to that, but know doubt it will get pulled to pieces. Oh and by the way, these are my first posts for several days, so its not as though im flooding the thread.. Unlike some !! Pirate Nick
Taken from The Daily Echo: "Article 8.2.1 of the latest FIM Anti-Doping Code, effective January 1, 2015, states: “The International Disciplinary Court shall issue a written decision within 45 days from the date of the end of the hearing” which was heard on January 30. However, a new twist could come from article 20.7 of the same document which contains the caveat that the rules “shall not apply retroactively to matters pending before the effective date”. In layman’s terms, the previous set of rules, in place from July 1, 2014, should apply to Ward’s failed alcohol test on August 17. The old code did not set out a definitive time frame for decisions, only a person’s right to “a timely, written reasoned decision” in the FIM’s principles for a fair hearing." This could run and run! weatherwatcher
So, what are you saying? He should get away with it? NO EXCUSE RIDING WITH ALCOHOL IN YOUR SYSTEM ON RACEDAY. End of.......... If you read what I said I quoted that ghe should get a 2 year ban which he deserves. If he dosen't soon change his way he will a forgoten name within the world of speedway or he will be know as the idiot that turned up for the GP after a night on the tiles before the meeting. So he should get what he deserves and that is the full limitr that can be imposed on a rider that comes to a meeting with alchol in his system. Middlo deserves to be sacked for all the coments he is making in the press and on Twitter. The BPSA should step in and put a stop to his antics as all he is doing and all the other idiots that are making stupid, we think Darcy is inocent fans should sit down and take a good look at the facts that he had done something wrong and this time he can't get away with it. The rules states 45 days after the hearing so how hard is that to understand, even my 10 year old grandson could get that one straight. Role on March 16th, so we can then get on with our speedway, without Darcy Ward, who can sit and twiddle his thumbs for 2 years and get some new mates to sort his head out for him, so that in 2017 he can come back and prove to us that he has finally learnt his leason.
