Stop the ban and let Darcy Ward race in 2015

We want Darcy Ward to race in 2015 and for the ban to be stopped so he can continue to race speedway. Darcy is one of the best speedway riders, he's entertaining to watch and he makes time for all of his fans. He's worked hard through out his life to be up the top in speedway. It is his career and his future. Darcy brings the fans to the race track. Everyone looks forward to watching him race and speedway is not the same with out him. It would be a massive loss to the sport if Darcy Ward wasn't racing in 2015. Please sign this petition so we can continue to watch Darcy race and for his career in speedway.

Sounds like it was written by a twelve year old

Yes, I noted it was much in the style that we see in many Posts on a forum nearer to home! :icon_smile_clown: P.S: - Did you mean LOOKS like and not SOUNDS like?

Dear Jim,

Could you please help little Darcy in his dream of riding his bike? He's not really a naughty boy and lots of people like watching him :icon_smile_clown:

Read a bit like it was written by a twelve year old

Surely it must have been because no sane adult could possibly think that given he turned up at a speedway meeting with alcohol in his body above the limit that he should just be allowed to get off because he's good at speedway...........................oh apart from Middleditch and he is proving himself to be plain silly with his comments

I can't say I really noticed his absence in the last five GPs.

P.S. If everyone's so confident that Darcy will get off because the F.I.M.'s case won't stand up thanks to an off-duty policeman and wrongly calibrated instruments, what's the point of the petition?

Perhaps I am a bit naive then.

I have been fortunate enough to know a few riders to speak to off track, all of whom like a good drink and could easily drink most under the table but all of whom were equally strict that it didnt happen within 48 hours of racing and that they wouldnt want to be out on track with someone who did. I kinda wanted to believe that was a majority feeling but obviously from what you say it cant be :(

Yews I totally agree with your comments, it seems speedway is still very un-professional compared to other motor sports all but a few.

Does it matter how old the compiler/activator of the petition on behalf of Darcy Ward is? At least the originator is showing some interest in what is happening and trying in their own way to present their feelings on the topic - as "so many experts" on this thread do?

Personally, I will not sign the petition but if others feel they should in what is supposed to be a democratic society they should have every right to do so - even if an overall opinion is that the petition could be/it is regarded as misguided?

highlighted a couple of things.

Darcy Ward hasnt worked hard at all. He has a sublime natural talent on a bike he finds it easy.

People like Tai and Nicki have worked hard to add to their talent and if Ward had an ounce of their commitment he could be world champion.

As for a massive loss not really. Sure he is good to watch but the gp's without him last season were perfectly good so if he wasnt there it wouldnt stop me watching them.

At the end of the day we all want to see Ward back on the track but it needs to be a different Ward , one who wont mess up again, and im afraid the people who crawl to him and call themselves fans by setting up a petition arent really doing him any favours

By criticising (or praising) the actual subject matter put forward for the petition: what is right or wrong with the reason/s for putting forward such a petition. Why it will when (or if) it is presented to the FIM the merits or otherwise that will see it succeed or fail.

I cannot see where you have made issues in regard to the actual thinking behind the compilation of the petition.

Oh dear! Several editors will be shocked to read your comment on my English!

In what way does the petition mean nothing? It is calling for a rethink in the Darcy Ward affair and for him to be allowed to resume his speedway career.

The petition's writing style may not be of 'The Times' standard but it gets across when read carefully the objectives for its presentation!

The voice of reason who makes the point I really cannot understand why people are not grasping

How about a slogan such as "Don't drink and ride".......................or for the Darcy supporters, "Its OK to drink and ride as long as you can get off on a technicality"
