Starman2006
How accurate is the equipment? When the police do roadside checks with handheld equipment, I think that's just to give an indication of the alcohol level and the actual legally admissible specimen has to be taken on a more complex machine back at the station. Ward's reading was fairly low wasn't it, and he gave a zero reading later (?) so maybe the argument is that the equipment used was insufficient accurate or not calibrated correctly. There will be some degree of error in any measuring equipment, and if you're close to a particular threshold then it might be argued the benefit of the doubt is given. Same as a handheld speed camera. How accurate is it ?? You were doing 32 mph in a 30 sir, wobble wobble shake.. Humphrey Appleby
Same as a handheld speed camera. How accurate is it ?? You were doing 32 mph in a 30 sir, wobble wobble shake.. Which is why the margin for error is 10% + 2 mph, and even then handheld devices have been largely deprecated in favour of vehicle-based or static cameras. Gavan
Same as a handheld speed camera. How accurate is it ?? You were doing 32 mph in a 30 sir, wobble wobble shake.. thought you might pop up at some time especially as the thread has started to mention how he could 'get away with it' as your pathetic excuse of a promoter said. for someone who regularly posta all the over the forum im stunned how you cant comment about Ward your own fans are condenming him and how he has probably cost you the league. yet your silence obviously shows your support for him. and the fact you now comment about him getting off speaks volums for your attitude on the matter. grow a pair for christs sake

SteveLyric2
all i said was you comment ONCE when someone mentions dodgy equipment. its blatantly obvious from your silence on the whole matter that you are in support of Ward The majority of Poole fans support Ward AND agree that he should be punished appropriately, as long as every testing process was carried out properly, despite Darcy admitting to being 'slightly' over!! If he was only slightly over on a test that was not performed correctly then there is every chance the reading could have been wrong! We don't know yet! Right or wrong, young riders need all the support they can get!!

Right or wrong, young riders need all the support they can get!! please get real about the situation. He was over the limit to ride a speedway bike. now everyone is trying to find a way out of it because its Darcy Ward and he is world class. Do riders need support time and time again! He has been supported time after time and yet throws the support back in peoples faces by doing somethig stupid and disgracing himself. The time comes when you have to say no more. If an offender keeps offending when being released do you keep releasing him or do you finally lock him up for good. The worst part is the disgusting attitude of your promoter 'fingers crossed he gets away with it' Not really. He's perfectly right. see up you pipe again to defend. your posts are a joke and you add nothing to discussion. Would be nice to read that you are sad to see Ward get into trouble yet again and im ashamed to say he has let my club down but hopefully he can sort himself out and get back to riding for Poole. Yet somehow you dont even comment only to hope he gets away with it. pathetic

Unfortunately he has a 'track record' of alcohol/drug induced misdemeanors too.. BTW..all riders need "all the support they can get", the majority of which are far more derserving..
