sommelier
yes i probably know Norrie Allan better than yourself seeing as my uncle used to sponsor Mark when he was 15 at Hackney right through untill he moved to Kings Lynn in 1990. We followed Mark almost everywhere from the early days until he moved to Wolves and Exeter and from our base in Essex it was to far. Both Mark and Norrie Allan cam to my aunties funeral in February 2000 and yes they got on fine. Until Norrie demanded more money from Poole to keep Mark there and he ended up losing his spot to Tony Rickardsson. As i say name me a rider past or present who has a low opinion of Mark. Im still waiting? its not a who knows who better but yes we were close to the Loram family. We still sit with the same family at Ipswich whose youngest daughter is married to Jeremy Doncaster's son. His step sister is Joanne Louis who was Marks partner in the 90's. Mark is often at Foxhall and always stops for a chat to ask how the family all are. As i say professional on and off the track, Darcy has a lot to learn Tell me when i have said a rider had a low opinion of Loram ? so am i still waiting! All you ever do is knock Ward 24/7! severnsider
I might be wrong but thought they only announced 3 official replacements this year & then have free choice. Three were Harris, Batchelor & MJJ. If need a 4th then think can choose who they want (null)
YerRopes
It is Ward's own choices/actions that have the potential to rob the Speedway world of his talents. He certainly wasn't thinking about his career or his supporters when he knowingly drank the night before a GP. One thing that has been niggling me since last weekend... Ward is not known for his gating ability - but every so often he had an evening of superb gating. Before I accepted that it was just a good night for his gating ... now I keep wondering why. I keep wondering if he has taken anything that either makes him a poor gater or a brilliant gater. His inconsistency is making me doubt his 'natural' ability. I have thought the same Scribbler.. Some nights he gates brilliantly others he doesn't, some nights he can pass anyone/everyone, others he can't - obviously we are left to draw our own conclusions as to the reason why (there may not be one).. I really hope Darcy can get himself 'back on track' (ha ha) as he undoubtedly has the potential to become a 'great' However, his progress in the EL the last couple of years has been minimal and this is a league that is so much weaker than a young Michael Lee had to take on..

f-s-p
If he still has his licence then, of course, he will be able to compete ... will be shocked if the FIM haven't come to a verdict by then however. But they need to provide sufficient time for Michael Jepsen Jensen to prepare should he be required. Of course, there us now the possibility that Nicki Pedersen won't be fit enough for Gorzow. Who's next? They can pick who they want. The list ends at MJJ.
Ghostwalker
They can pick who they want. The list ends at MJJ. So which riders do we think will get the nod? There are likely three riders that needs to be replaced; Nicki, Darcy and Tai.
Bavarian
They should pick three young Poles to help fill the Gorzow grandstands. Not that it will be a repeat of the Bydgoszcz GP in front of empty terraces.
dave69
Are there any Poles left over there to fill the grandstands ?
Bavarian
Good question, dave. Germany is full of them Poles, too. They seem to be everywhere.
stevebrum
The FIM would not be robbing supporters/paying punters by punishing him... It is Ward's own choices/actions that have the potential to rob the Speedway world of his talents. He certainly wasn't thinking about his career or his supporters when he knowingly drank the night before a GP. Well said. Only one person responsible of robbing anybody of watching him in action. If he still has his licence then, of course, he will be able to compete ... will be shocked if the FIM haven't come to a verdict by then however. Let us all hope that a decision is made sooner rather than later, it is a farce already without it looking like the FIM is one as well. Gavan
Tell me when i have said a rider had a low opinion of Loram ? so am i still waiting! All you ever do is knock Ward 24/7! i originally asked if anyone had a bad word to say about Mark... you replied Norrie Allan Ward is probably only 2nd to Nicki Pedersen for the rider not liked by his colleagues. Its not a hatred and dislike to Ward, who is probably the most exciting rider in the world at the moment. Doesnt mean he should get away with what he has done though. And i stand by by arguement that Darcy will only be remembered for what he was like off track rather than what he did on it unless he changes his whole outlook. And no he isnt as good as Loram
BWitcher
And no he isnt as good as Loram Correc he isn't as good, he is better. At an equivalent age Ward is well ahead of where Loram was. At no point in Lorams career was anyone ever saying he could go on to win multi world titles. Indeed it was something of a shock when he did win one... something he never got close to repeating. Loram was a very good, exciting rider for sure, but apart from that one season where the format suited and he had some luck (which most champions need to be fair) he was just below the top echelon of riders.

And no he isnt as good as Loram Why is it that it is so important for a rider to be liked by his fellow riders, i actually get a bit sick when the clique get together oozing love for each other I seem to remember Both Hans Nielsen and Ivan Mauger being pretty unpopular with other riders Mork Loram was a very good rider, a world champion, and one who was extremely fortunate to win his title. Darcy Ward is early twenties a pity a few people don't look back at what they were like at that age. i hope he gets himself back on track, fills his life with people who will help him and remain in GB while all the other mercenaries sell their souls in Poland as they enjoy loving each other
screm
To be fair to Loram he had the likes of Hans Neilsen and Tony Rickardson kicking around at the same time. Loram realised his talent, and became World Champ, excluding is World Under-21 titles, Ward still has to realise his undoubted talent. Can he be World Champ yes, but he has to make significant changes to his set up to get there IMO.
PHILIPRISING
IF messrs Ward, Woffinden and Pedersen do, in fact, miss this week's SGP in Gorzow, Michael Jepsen Jensen will automatically get one place. Would like to see Piotr Pawlicki get a go. A good show could earn him a wild card pick for 2015. And, out of centre field, give Emil a call... you never know he might get a taste for it again and change his mind over a place next year. But hasn't Sayfutdinov missed the boat for next years GP series, given he isn't doing the qualifiers. He could of course get a wild card pick but that would be very unfair IMO, though I will admit it would be great to see him back in SGP. SteveLyric2
Can those that are on twitter please confirm that Peter Oakes has tweeted the FIM Jury hearing is this coming week?!
pandorum
They would be mental not to do anything to get Emil and any other top Russians into the series. They run a business not a charity and box office talks merit walks
