Why should he not ride,he has not been found guilty of anything yet. I have been to Grand Prix 's and been in the hotels where the riders have been drinking the night before a Grand Prix. If it is zero tolerance to alcohol that would means if you had a pint of shandy before a meeting you over the limit. So they banned him from the GP and fined him for the fun of it? Pedersen is a three time world champion who is no where near my all time top 20 because of the way he goes about things.Zagar showed him for what he really is a bully who when taken on backs off a on top bully.Crump was tough Ricko was tough Tai can be tough but they were FAIR a massive difference.I have most of the GPS footage and if you look back over the years how many incidents has he been involved in endless times to be honest he has got away with murder.In there day he would not of lasted two minutes with the likes of Crump senior,Wilkinson,Jack Millen,Sanders,Browning they would of all out bullied him. Sorry to break it to you, but I doubt many riders out there are concerned where they stand in your all time top 20. Interesting post though, you're constantly slagging of Pedersen because of his tough riding.. but then claim there were other tougher riders in the past, but funnily enough you are always praising them. On another point and I think waihekaces touched upon this earlier.. Surely Middlo can't back up his mitigating circumstances comment now. If Darcy feels the need to get drunk over his parents break up then perhaps he should have asked Tai or Emil how they coped with a dying parent. He clearly feels that the news of a parents break up is mitigation. Like I said earlier Middlo is, and long has been, Darcy's worst enemy. That doesn't make it the sensible response, and clearly not acceptable for anyone needing to work in a zero alcohol tolerance profession the next day. Compare with emils response to his father's death in winning a gp in his honour. As devastating as it must have been to hear it is in no way "mitigating circumstances" for failing a breath test. Middlo should have just kept his mouth shut. Going into print reaffirming the mitigation bit was always going to look silly when the real reason came out. It is just another case of Middlo having a mouth a few minutes ahead of his brain. Surely they could have waited until after the GP to tell him... And he is 22, not a child, and has been separated from his parents for long lengths of time for a few years now. Ward drowning his sorrows hasn't achieved anything. His parents won't get back together for his sake. He's not a child... It would be so much more devastating for a child. As Gavan says - Emil and Tai had to cope with the death of a parent. If mind wasn't on it then even more reason why he shouldn't have been riding. He's an adult not a child. Gollob went through a nasty divorce, holder missed birth of first child, Emil had a terminally ill father and yet they all came out and rode sober. What is Wards excuse for other times he has done this in Poland (which rides are saying he has) or the riding a unlicensed bike whilst under the influence of drink & drugs?
