Coventry Vs Swindon 18/8/14

In the interests of a well run meeting & the watching fans there should be a clear two-minute rule that everyone understands.

Riders should not be allowed to dismount to do gardening & the last rider at the tapes should not be allowed any time to do gardening, making all four riders more eager to get there quicker!

Agree he made some silly choices but wasn't just against Swindon.

He excluded 2 Swindon riders when they shouldn't have been, as at tapes.

But Worrall should have been excluded in heat 2 when brought Sarj down but ref did nothing.

He also excluded Hans Andersen.

After the first couple of heats, the other exclusions would have been the same no matter who ref or team was.

Worrall & Nathan fell due to poor positioning on the bike.

Morris broke tapes in heat 1 and then later caused crash with Garrity.

Troy fell all on his own.

Any ref would have excluded them on these occasions.

I was referring to the run-down state of the stadium, not the track. When I came over last year, my friend and I , who both were regulars in the 1950s couldn't believe the ramshackle state of the place. Pieces of tin hanging off the back straight stand, weeds overwhelming the crumbling concrete on the terraces. It was really sad to see it being allowed to deteriorate. I know the reasons no one will put any money into it . I wish I were a billionaire !

As for the red flag incident. I had never seen anything like it. I described Prezedpelski as being "asleep at the wheel" at the time. Thank goodness Berntzon wasn't hurt. Both great prospects by the way. If Smederna can get Grigori Laguta back on a bike they might cause an upset in the playoffs.

I wish that people could take an honest look at the state of the Elite League. Too often I see words typed to the accompaniment of "Land Of Hope and Glory" that tell us things aren't good in other countries whilst burying their heads in the sand. . Poland and Sweden are the dominant powers in League speedway

with crowds that far exceed the UK. They have to be doing something right. Regards. Alan.

The fiasco on Monday took place on the track in front of a TV audience.

Apologies Alan I thought you were referring to the track I totally agree with you about the Stadium When I was there as trackman under Linda and Martin Ochiltree during the winter months you hardly missed the fact there was a long wait before the new season as me and my helper Karl had so much to do on the cosmetic side repairing fence panels before the arrival of air bags painting any thing which looked dowdy and in the cold bit dec/jan even checking every seat in the stands for nuts and bolts which needed tightening and new sticky numbers being replaced on every seat (of which there are many) .Unfortunately the old stadium is looking very poorly these days maybe if all us fans pray hard enough for a miracle benefactor and a new piece of 99 yrs lease land for sport only usage we can reinvent a home for the Bees
