thecoombdog
Coventry have struggled to put us away when everything has gone against us and we are missing our number 1. Plus Bomber wont ride like this again. Poole or KL will batter them in the play off's.
YerRopes
Classic from my wife (knows nothing re soeedway) "whos that puggled bloke theyve just spoken too" (Havelock) Â Havelock is a Northern Wurzel who can only aspire to an equivalent IQ.. Â Shocking meeting, a total disgrace but well done Cov (same for both sides as they say - apart from the ref)..
bigcatdiary
That was truly dreadful, the track was crap, the racing was (apart from the odd race) crap and the referee wasn't as good as crap he was bloody worse. Â Dreadful advert for speedway on Sky and shows just how low the sport has fallen. Â The referee wants his ticket pulled on that showing, Robinson has never been one of the better referees but that was a dreadful performance even by his standards. Â I think Sky meetings need to be back under the cntrol of Steele, Lawrence or Ackroyd as they have proved they can cut it when the pressure is on.

We've beat you by 13, you had 1 race where you had 2 riders (but only really 1 as the one was a replacement) excluded. What else went against you? Don't forget Covebtrys number 1 was also excluded on 2 minutes and the referee failed to stop heat 2 after Worrall caused Sarjeant to fall. salty
Garbage meeting, slightly redeemed by the last few races. Track was shocking, but the reffing was even worse. Both were totally inconsistent.

I aint rated Coventry from the start of the season so nothing has changed my opinion. It will be a double victory for Poole or KL as it would be if we make it against the other. Had a great chance to get back in the meeting despite everything that has happened. Only had to stay on the same line. Clueless. Â Any lingering thought a point could be squeezed out of this meeting has gone. Pity a couple of the team didn't have the same attitude as Dakota North & the Robins may have got a point . WELL DONE DAKOTA NORTH ...

I think Sky meetings need to be back under the cntrol of Steele, Lawrence or Ackroyd as they have proved they can cut it when the pressure is on.   But where is the pressure? Fair enough if it's a play-off meeting but this was just a run of the mill league match, granted points make play-offs but it wasn't a 'big' meeting by any stretch of the imagination. As said earlier, it's the inconsistencies that get my goat, I'd like to see riders excluded for pi**ing about at the start, it's bloody annoying, but will we see it again next week, very unlikely. If all referees did the same then meetings would run much more smoothly and more importantly would give the sport a lot more credibility.  On reflection I enjoyed tonight's meeting much more than some others I've watched this season, for example that European Championship farce the other week, that was painfully dull.
brandonbee48
Absolutely awful advert for the sport.Just imagine telling a first timer ' It's not always like this". Unfortunately the spectator entertainment value at most Elite League meetings is minimal. Even with the reduced admission charge which first timer would go back again ? Good Swedish meeting tomorrow to make a comparison with. Regards. Alan.

Thats not luck, thats rubbish riding!
Daniel Smith
Considering it was 6 v 8 we done ok, Pk would have got a max on that abortion of a track. Not sure about Kildermand being a max but he would have livened the meeting up. With the track in the conditions they were, watching him and Bomber going at it would have been entertainment. Kildermand was sorely missed from a spectators and a Swindon point of view.

Speedy swindon pete
Not going to get many decent races when some of the riders are putting in little to no effort. Quite true, and I'm not disagreeing with that, but it can't be hard to prepare a consistent, fair surface that gives more if not all riders the chance to RACE, not just ride it, in confidence. Â Coventry's own Hans, Jensen, and Hansen, weren't even slightly interested in racing tonight. Is it any surprise to see Harris revelling in tricky, deep conditions?! Fact is, he is an incredibly rare breed, and I'd say after seeing him a few times, Garrity is one of a similar mould. Â But what has Harris done at places where the track is up to the standards we quite often see on the continent? Largely guff all. Its easy to say that theres no decent racing if riders aren't trying, but having tracks that we have to wait 10 heats for it to settle down first, is just not normal for a vast majority of the riders. We can bleat all we like that riders aren't brave enough or trying hard enough, but we know what most of these riders (and the bikes) are like now. Are we supposed to sit watch the fans leaving the stadiums in droves because we have to wait to the last quarter of the meeting for the action to start? And people wonder why the sport is on its arse. Â Fact is most riders these days are used to tracks that are consistent and decent from the first heat, to the last heat. Â Tonight hasn't done anyone any favours, except possibly the treasurer of the Chris Harris fan club, and his own self esteem.
SCB
Â Are you saying that you think the ref did a good job tonight ? No. He shouldnt have excluded the 2 riders he did in heat 3 and should have excluded Worrall in heat 2. I dont see how this makes it some sort of moral victory for Swindon as being claimed.
