Panthers V Witches 19/8/14

Recommended Posts

Good point that Lovey we normally have an individual (Star of Anglia) in the summer which we haven't had this year.

I'm another who has lost interest I'm afraid. Been to one meeting in a good couple of months.

Like you Lovey, I'll still log on later to find out the score just like I will Thursday evening and I'll pick up a paper and read the meeting report on Fridays.

But that's where my interest ends at the moment, I really just can't be bothered to make the effort and attend as IMO it's not worth the time, effort and money these days for what we get served up.

Looking at falling attendances at Foxhall and many many other clubs, unfortunately it seems more and more are feeling the exact same way.

Believe me I've totally had enough also, but luckily or unluckily, depends how you see it, I've nothing else in my life apart from my karting, so I still go speedway. I suppose the terraces are half full of sad idiots like me.

My social life pretty much is mainly speedway related between March to October, so you're not alone! I do have other interests, but my social time between those months is pretty much speedway orientated. I don't know if I'd go so far as to say any of us are sad idiots though!

No, haven't been for several weeks - can't even remember which was my last match.

Still follow the scores on live updates and watch a stream occasionally (it was painful rubbish last night!) - and pop in here to read the usual recursive arguments.

Can't see that anything will tempt me back this season - the PL bonus fixture list and play-offs format are pants. I don't think everything is rosy at Foxhall froma financial perspective either (no evidence), but it was poor that no effort was made to stage a fixture last week - even with the school holidays, the cost of staging an open meeting was clearly too much to risk.

Blimey! I knew you were becoming disillusioned like a few others, but didn't realised you hadn't been for several weeks. But then again that's probably cos we haven't spoken for months! Is anything really rosy at any speedway track these days? I bet it isn't! I personally think it is dying a slow death over here. My dad doesn't think so, but I'm becoming very cynical over a few things with regards to the subject of speedway of late. Nice to know you're still alive anyway ;)

Panthers fans are too fickle in my opinion. A few have decided that we aren't good enough & are not going before we have even given the new riders a chance. What has happened to loyalty to your club, & supporting them through thick & thin ?

Aren't speedway fans in general fickle? ;)

So it sounds like there will be a few of us Ipswich fans there tonight to hopefully see an away win. I see that the new boys had some practice last night, they must be a little bit worried but practice ain't the same as riding against three other riders.

I'd hardly call the home team underdogs. The outcome of tonight will all be about if the Panthers new boys hit the ground running or not! If they do a home win, if they don't then an away win could be on the cards. Alot could also depend on which Richie Worrall turns up, hopefully not the one that was at Rye on Saturday!

It's only what I think. Not trying to destroy his argument ;)

You did though, in fact people in general are fickle, it's human nature. Don't think that it's particularly a Peterborough thing but with a small pool of regulars both Posh and Panthers know when they've got problems, The riders thing here is a bit of a red herring really!

would have thought plenty of witches fan will turn up there esp since there's a sniff of a away win , weather looks good so should be a good meeting /good racetrack

Mmmm, not so sure about the weather, black clouds around stadium, and you can see the rain in the distance

Really gutted, missed my lunch at work today especially for the lovely fish and chips you get here, and no fish and chip van, grrr

With Dryml as number 3 now, and Roynon on a 6 & a half average when he'll do well to average half of that in the remaining fixtures, and with Hall not having ridden speedway for months, and with the likely low-scoring Dilger at reserve, Panthers look very much the underdogs to me.

Having said that, i will be delighted if Roynon & Dilger make BIG scores,
