Arson fire
I hope we don't qualify through the back door really, it would be unjust as we hardly deserve it. Not to mention the farce it would be... Think it would just about be the finish for me personally.
Gaz
Very true Arson we don't deserve anything this season. We made a massive error when changing the team and the team has underperformed away from home.

Rules were agreed at the beginning, and teams like the Diamonds got on with their busy schedule, and still had rainoffs. This during a time when everyone was puzzled who to drop with poor results. You can't just drop the playoffs and award the title, or expect the diligent or lucky teams to sit around doing no meetings, till the last team gets their last matches in. It is nothing new, as I seem to recall Brum losing out a few years ago, with meetings not completed, but eventually going on to be second in the PL table when they caught up after the playoffs were underway. George has done his best to slot in outstanding fixtures, and we are still on track even though we had blank weekends around the Cardiff GP. Although we haven't had it (postponements and abandonments) as bad as some, of course. Â On tonight, it seems like a decent away point was picked up, when you look at the updates, it could have been a whole lot worse. Â Hope Danny Phillips isn't too badly hurt. Gaz
We should of known for definite before announcing anything and not changed the team if we could not fit them both in. Yes we have done a bit better with mills and Nielsen in the team but we have been terrible in the majority of away matches which will cost us a place in the playoffs. A lot of teams beat rye away yet we can't even get a point! In my view the rider of the season is Lewis Rose by far as he is riding in a tough position and holding his own. He has been brilliant and would of been getting double figures most matches if still at reserve.

Tsunami
how can we take a point off the comets and nearly got all 3 but get nowt at rye house.. Puzzling isn't it. It's usually bloody Glasgow that does us at their place, and get stuffed by everyone else. It happened last year.
KEITH M
how can we take a point off the comets and nearly got all 3 but get nowt at rye house..And Rye House got stuffed at home again tonight off Ipswich and Richie never scored a point
Lord Lucan
how can we take a point off the comets and nearly got all 3 but get nowt at rye house.. Â Coz you ride our track a hell of a lot better than you do Rye, I was surprised when you got nothing out of them!! Â As for tonight, almost inevitable delay's aside, a very good match I thought, disappointingly correct that our lack of match practice would cost us a point but fair play to Newky, they did ride very well and deserved to get something especially after Danny Phillips only lasted 100m and they had to rely on one reserve for the whole meeting, hope he's OK, painful neck injury for him that required a trip to the hospital? Good effort from the Comets tonight to get the win but it just shows the damage a couple of strategically placed "jokers" can do to a healthy lead, King looked very quick tonight, Rose tried hard and didn't get the pts his efforts deserved, Robson looked out of sorts til his fourth ride which produced one of the races of the night with Rene, nip and tuck all the way with Rene getting passed on the last corner to take the win, Kerr was getting better with every race and I was quite surprised he didn't get the Ht 15, Lindgren started well but faded a bit after that and Nielsen rode as well as I've ever seen him ride here nearly always in the mix, did well!! Â For the Comets, Josh was looking like his old self, quick and sharp and his run down of Danny King in Ht1 was worth the money on it's own, Kyle looked better as well, the rest seems to have done him no harm at all, much smoother tonight and all the better for it, two good wins, Rene seemed to be on a mission, trying to pass everything that moved, must have been short on cash and a bill's just landed, Mason was getting going til he blew an engine and the spare wasn't quite on the pace, Ricky had a pretty disappointing night and a snapped chain saw him do a dance with the dirt when in 2nd place which wont have done the bank balance any favour's either, Kasper Lykke is worryingly good round our place which doesn't bode well for us as he's back with Glasgow nxt week, great race to see off Kerr on his tac ride but some tardy starts later on cost him points he should have had, and as for Liam Carr, what a good effort he put in, very tidy win in the reserve race and held his own for most of the other's for a good return that could have been a pt or two better, well done young man!! All in all, a good win against a capable side, dont think it's as bad as all that in relation to the PL table as we have so many matches in hand, if we can get into a consistent run of matches, get the sharpness back, we could get into the mix quite quickly but it's all those away matches where we need to shine and get some pts if we're to really make everyone sit up and take notice? topaz325
Some good racing last night but the meeting took an age to complete due to crashes (get well soon Danny Phillips) track work and air fence repairs. Â A good effort from Workingtons two guset riders Kapser Lykke and Liam Carr ( a possible siging for the Comets ?) Â Although it was good to get the win it was a point gained by our play off rivals Newcastle who were good value and never gave up but were helped by two Tac rides. Big Diamond
Decent point for the Diamonds even if it is only for pride was expecting another big home win and actually forgot this meeting was taken place shows how exciting our away form has been. If the team had managed to take a point from more places and avoided bad home losses would have a chance of reaching playoffs without needing bad weather rest of the season. Hope team can finish strong and start again next season. Edited August 17, 2014 by Big Diamond
Taylorj
how can we take a point off the comets and nearly got all 3 but get nowt at rye house.. The scoreline flattered the Diamonds tbh, the tactical rides worked in your favour with Ricky shedding a chain whilst in second place gifted the 8-1 and 2 points gained from 1st tac. Ended up as an OK final score, after looking like we could get humped, especially with Robbo a bit off song. Is he doing too many meetings at the moment. One more point, and only two meetings to fit in. If we win them both, it could be we will not be caught by teams unable to complete their fixtures, so we would then qualify for the Playoffs. Would be just reward for us having to ride so many meetings early in the season, when we had a troubled septet and any two could have been dropped. Â Hope Danny is OK, but wonder who will now ride at reserve as if Mills is ill, is he entitled to ride tomorrow with it not being speedway related. We shall soon see. Mmmm, Peterborough 10 meetings in hand and Worky 11 meetings in hand , only 7 points in it at the minute can you really see Newcastle on the playoffs

Mmmm, Peterborough 10 meetings in hand and Worky 11 meetings in hand , only 7 points in it at the minute can you really see Newcastle on the playoffs Stranger things have happened. It may be 7 points, as you point out, but that excludes the possibility of any points from our home and away against Glasgow, and home against Peterborough. That must be another 9 points. Add in what TWK said with Worky's rain record, it now looks a certainly.
