Rye House 2015

Recommended Posts

Think its harsh of some saying Anders left for reasons other than those stated. For me he needed a year out and not ride with a rod holding his back together, add a couple of hours on a plane pre meeting and no wonder he is in poor shape.

Not at all, his fitness is a reason undoubtedly but that doesn't mean there aren't underlying issues elsewhere which will have contributed to him getting out while he could.

It pains me to say that I never thought we would have a team under Len as bad as we had under Ronnie Rogue but we have. I do think that the riders have to accept some of the blame as they have not always ridden as well as their ability suggests. I still think Stevie could be EL on the right equipment and unless he implodes JG should be an England international - if he could only take note of the fabulous example set by Tai.

However there is no point in putting a team of racers on the track if you don't give them a team to match. At the moment the place is like pontins at camber sands in the 1970's when half the population are flying out to benidorm. I know they say be careful what you wish for but as a man who first started at Hackney in 1974 I'm afraid Len needs to hand over the reins before he is the last spectator watching.

How do you work that out when he misses most of our meeting due to PL commitments.

They mean his heart and overall good attitude that he showed last season remains constantly in Coventry now!

Was evident from Day 1 when he didn't want to attend Rye House press & practice on the Friday lunchtime, because Coventry had theirs later on in the day. Posed for a few photos in his kevlars, then disappeared up to the Midlands.

Looks far more at home at Coventry and getting regular exposure on Sky. Why would he want to bother with little old Rye House?

As said by most others , would only keep 3 of the current team , Kennett,Greenwood and Mellgren .Please no Bunyan next season , hate watching his lack of effort . Feel sorry for New Zealand if he's the best you have got . Nelson would be worth a place as he's a club asset and at least he does have a go , crowd pleaser at times. As for the other 3 places don't know , but would just like some fresh blood otherwise more doom and gloom would be forthcoming.

No Kennett or Mellgren, no chance off Bunyan returning, too many broken promises, was over the moon when he was sacked, only to find it was only as Captain, he probably knows exactly where he's riding next year and on what average, think it's called forward planning, Garrity will have to move on to make progress, will be quite hard to attract new good riders to the Club with the complete lack of sponsors, now that Elmside have long departed. Luke has to decide which way he wants to go, should move away, and get a fresh start ideally.

The clubs in a mess. Better to close it down rather than watch a sub standard team next year.

Yep. Sad, but no other option if silver won't sell up. Would rather the club be put out of its misery than carry on like this.

If only a Matt Ford/ John Chapman type could come forward and buy it off Silver.

More likely whoever is in charge at the kart track and that will be curtains for speedway at Rye House.

if the planning issues at Central Park can be resolved, it would not surprise me to see PL racing at kent next season and NL only at rye.

That's a possibility. I certainly won't be doing the 125 mile round trip to Kent to watch home meetings. Edited by Shadders

What are the chances of an exciting signing or two to lighten the end of season gloom, a bit like the Ace of Herts audition but earlier? Dakota North or Simon Gustafsson looked half tidy in the Elite League death knell farce last night.

Not sure how the averages would work out as do not have a PHD in Pure Mathematics which is the minimum you need these days!

There's more chance of Len Silver getting back on a bike than any quality signings at Rye House

Hmmm! No thanks to Len on a bike but would pay to watch another Andrew Silver cameo! Still remember that comeback maximum...

Looks like another few weeks of watching Bunyan give it his all beckons.

Really enjoyed watching Andrew Silver that year. He won the first heat I ever saw live in 1985. Great style
