Rye House V Ipswich Pl 16-8-14 @ 7-00pm

I think it was just one of those meetings for Richie W. Missed the start in heat one and just an inside line always means not a lot of passing in heat 1. Unlucky in his second race when he crashed after clipping Steve Boxall. Spoke to him after that crash and he said that he was very stiff and sore but after he spoke to Steve Boxall he said that Jason Garrity had locked up which caused Boxall to do the same and Richie had nowhere to go. Just glad to see both riders up and walking away from that. Looked like in his third ride he hit a slick bit of track entering third bend which spun him round.

Anyway good four points for the Witches which didn't expect after Cam broke down while on a 5-1 in heat 12, but didn't think we would get a 5-1 in heat 15 but credit to Morten & Rohan for getting the result. Just hope Richie is fit for Peterborough.

As for Rye apart from Edward & Jason Garrity they look low on confidence and riding the wrong lines on the track as Ipswich were riding out wide and going past. Jason Bunyan apart from his first ride looks like he would rather be elsewhere and was just going through the motions. Mellgren looked rusty but that is to be expected after being out for a while.

Steve Irving is a Redcar fan

And the then team manager, allegedly.

Was more than a couple of Witches fans on here too if I remember. Was surprised at the time as Lanham is getting long in the tooth and has been slowly on the slide for a few years.

Risager may have flattered to deceive in recent years, but unlike Lanham he still has plenty left in the tank.

I didn't want either of them in the team but Morten has shown very good consistency this season, maybe as he has been injury free.

Yup , home now and it certainly went better than I'd expected .

Going into ht15 all I was saying was please don't get 5-1'd against and the Morten/Rohan combo promptly delivered one for us securing the full 4 league points !

I do have to agree with other's thoughts though that this is a very poor Rye team that will struggle to avoid the wooden spoon .

Really not sure what the hell was going on with Worrall tonight but im sure it's one he will quickly want to put behind him .

Still , well pleased for the Witches lads and the result and I would also like to say it was nice to meet and put a face to the names and meet Bandits4ever and Shadders ! Hope your teams performances improve to give you a better end to the season .

Likewise. Walked away in a daze and forgot to say goodbye. I'm sure we'll catch up again now we know what we all look like, hopefully when we can give you a proper test.

It's more than a blip, his average has been going down all season, although I would love to see him back next season, only a fool would not get him back.

I'll be that fool! I'm not sure his current average looks cheap, it looks about right to me.

Looking at the latest greensheets, next season we could actually track 6 of this years 7, Risager, Tungate, Manzares, Hawkins, Heeps and Ellis, and replace Worrall with Danny King and still be under the limit!

That would be some side.

Crikey you're right that would be a fantastic team.

Amazing how well we've actually done this season when you look at the stats! We are currently 40.82 well under the limit, only Glasgow in the whole league have a lower current team total.

Somerset and Edinburgh on the other hand, are 47.16 and 46.87 respectively and will have to rip their teams apart.

We could keep our current 1-7, or even better, exchange Worrall for Danny King and keep the other 6.

Penalised for being too good. What a daft sport

So what was the point in having Worrall in the team all season, surely we should have replaced him when his average was still high enough.

I'm all for having king next season if he wants to race for Ipswich, but I would also keep Worrall, and let one of the others go, maybe 2 of them.

I'm just not convinced with Worrall Baldy. Not saying he's a bad rider of course he isn't, but his average now of around 7 and a half looks about right to me.

If we signed King and kept Worrall, then we'd have to change a couple of the others. I'd rather keep the 6 we have now, and just upgrade our number 1 with King or simllar with the points we'd have left.

Starting next year with Heeps and Ellis at reserve again would be a bonus. Risager and Tungate are assets so would be silly to replace them with riders of similar ability. Both can be match winners on their day.

Hawkins has done a steady job and is the captain, on his average I'd keep him too and Manzares must be a shoe in for next year.

Continuity for me is the way to go, not a lot wrong with our current team especially when you factor in that most others will have to weaken.

Yeah I'm sold. Your Team is good for next season. So let's hope Adam can get an elite team that doesn't mean he will miss many meetings, same with King, that's if king wants to race for us, there again, give the rider the best deal and he will race for you. I can't see king not being in the elite league.

Fair play to Ipswich, against Rye who performed pretty well at home against a strong Somerset team and beating Newcastle convincingly. Terrible from Worrall and using RR Ipswich should have been beaten but Heeps was the big difference and well done to Risager who for once was the real deal around Rye

For us Greenwood continues to impress and Edward does what he can with only erratic support. Think Anders has shown in his last couple of meetings he may have come back too early, hope the boy gets back to his best as it would be nice to see a rider who really cares about the club in the team for 2015.
