Chewbacca
Alex Edberg for Hall and Danny Phillips for Max Dilger and Rr for Ales. Take it no one else available or are we cost cutting? Edberg and Phillips a definite upgrade on Hall and Dilger at Brough
PE7Panther
Edberg and Phillips a definite upgrade on Hall and Dilger at Brough4 points and 1 point...... well, I guess 5 points is probably a bit better than Hall & Dilger would've mustered up between them. But 5 pts from 9 rides is still CAK! Maybe it was a big step up for Phillips and unfair to criticise him too much. But was he really the best we could find? BCD says it wasn't sorted out until midday - but why not ffs?! So Dilger was tied up in Germany (good!!) Ok but they must've known about that ages ago so why leave it so late? Oh silly, silly me; Phillips is bound to come cheap AND he's based just up the road on Teeside so even cheaper! Buy cheap, you get cheap. And so another defeat - and the play-offs disappear into the distance. Edited September 7, 2014 by PE7Panther
Panthers89
Tbf they did book max clegg but for some reason that never happened? Least we got to 40 points but still, talk about average! Hope we return next season as had enough of this one already.

According to Updates, he fell last night while riding for Leicester and rode through the pain barrier to complete the match after Leicester's other reserve Josh Bates withdrew from the meeting after his second ride.

To be fair Max CLEGG was originally replacing DILGER but pulled out on the day as did Hall so all in all I think they made a fair effort, bearing in mind the PR didn't come out until midday tells us they were still phoning around in the morning. PHILLIPS is sponsored by Motive and has guested for us before.

dantodan
I quite enjoyed the 85th anniversary meeting despite there being no old bikes etc. I thought Ludvig was yet again the most entertaining rider. But I take my hat off to every rider. Brough's track now has a few grippy options for the lads to have a go at overtaking. The 2nd bend on lap 1 is great to watch and so too the entry to the 3rd bend and the outside on bend 4. Ludvig should be asked back next season as long as his average is low enough. Our Swede is not a number 1 rider, home and away but he is a crowd pleaser second to none at Brough. As a season ticket holder I went upstairs and had a few nibbles at a very good buffet. The freebies were fine, not that I wanted a scarf or programme board or a trip onto the centre of the track. Been there a few times over the years but I suspect many other season ticket holders would want the centre green trip and gifts. Anyway, my thanks to the promotion for saluting their season ticket holders, Maybe it would be a good thing to honour us every year in a similar way if the funds are ok. I always buy my season ticket early to give my cash hopefully that it will be a financial shot in the arm and will help the promoters in their teambuilding activities etc Chris Mills I have appreciated Millsy this year, he has figured in quite a few memorable races. Broken vertebrae, I had an operation on my vertebrae a few years back, it was very painful and took me ages to get over it! No way could I have risked riding a speedway bike after the op. Perhaps Chris is made of sterner stuff and if he still has the appetite for racing will make a comeback next year but my advice would be "Don't even think about risking it" Good luck Chris
erniew
Enjoyed the meeting last night. The 'King of Diamonds' races were great entertainment, nearly as much fun as watching George English having kittens in the crowd at some of the overtakes :-)

Chewbacca
Indeed, the King of Diamonds races featured some of the hardest first bends I've seen all season. Scary stuff with 3 Diamonds in each race. Richie looked much better than on his last visit. Decent meeting overall and great value at £8.
