Noodles
Makes me smile all the do gooders who are holier than thou. Would you all have the same opinions if you had to be drug tested for your own run of the mill occupations then sacked for a failed test. Amazing how everyone lines up to kick a kid when he's down without knowing the facts. None of this should be in the public domain until after the B test. Alcohol does more damage to society than any recreational drug and yet is widely accepted, wonder what the punishment is for a rider who fails a breathalyser pre meeting as opposed a drug test, doubt a ban would be comparable I wouldn't fail a drugs test but yes I would be sacked from my job, and so I should. Didn't Ronnie Correy fail a breathalyser before the Fours once?

Agree that alcohol misuse is a significant danger, but it is much easier to test for it than it is to test for drug use. Indeed, some years ago I'm sure I heard whisperings about the Royal Fleet Auxiliary considering the introduction of random breathalyser checks Edited August 9, 2014 by ancient mariner

SteveLyric2
Story on speedwaygp.com Suspended for 2 Zielona meetings. Awaiting results of the 'B' sample test. If positive, could be a 2-year ban. (Unless the Poles agree to 'sponsor' a new court house??!)

Is that a "Bernie Ecclestone"? No punishment if you're rich enough to pay a "bribe"?

SCB
All places of work "should" consider drink and drug testing! The complications of managing it appear to be the main stumbling block. Most of the places I have worked have had a drink and drugs policy. Every one of them said if you went to work under the influence it was instant dismissal. We joked in my last place of work that when our boss to us to the bus one lunch time it was so he could sack us that afternoon. Where as a previous job the management knew we went to the pub 90% of lunch times.

Wackie
Isn't it if enough riders say a rider is on drugs they eventually test them? Who was the last rider to be caught? Danny Bird in 2007 - and I'm told the authorities were not after him but an Australian rider who on seeing the drug inspector people were there fell over before the meeting and had to be taken to hospital with a bad back!! James Horton in 2003 and Frank Smart & Roger Lobb in 2000. Have I missed anyone else from the last 15 years? I remember it as the said aussie hurting his back whilst unloading his bikes, how unlucky is that! Must have been quite bad though, he did look very pale sitting in the pits when the doping officers arrived. Just because nobody has been caught over here in a few years doesn't mean testing doesn't happen, or that riders racing in GB are whiter than white. I guess what was a banned substance 2, 3, 4 years ago may not be now and vice-versa. Wasn't too long ago that it became obvious from the conversations on twitter, a group of young high profile riders where partying with canisters of laughing gas - it's what most young people do these days apparently maybe wasn't a banned substance then, but could be now. Didn't Ronnie Correy fail a breathalyser before the Fours once? Jonny the spud
Yeah right, all those shop assistants are a danger to society after a few sherbets the night before... Well if you worked in a chemist giving people potentially life saving medicine or in a high end boutique, being drunk could affect someone's health or cost a fortune through mistakes being made. Or if you're a bus / taxi driver / pilot the consequences don't bear thinking about. Unless you think it's ok to turn up drunk to work that is ?

xmas
Danny Bird - 2 year ban springs to mind as an old racers fan (and most previous riders got at least 12 months), be interesting to see how Dudek is treated... Was it only 2 years yes I wonder why he never made a comeback as he did progress very fast I thought
