Patryk Dudek Tests Positive For Banned Substance

Recommended Posts

Sportowefakty.pl are carrying a report that implicates a member of the Polish team in a doping allegation.

Quote (Google translation): Further our source, which contacted on Friday, confirmed that one of the Polish players were caught doping. What is, however, the most important voice in the matter in an interview with sport.tvp.pl took Michael Rynkowski from the Commission Against Doping in Sport. - At this stage we are not able to provide information about the personal data of the player. We can only confirm that such a case has occurred. This is the finding of stimulant inbodyspeedway rider. At the moment we are at the stage of determining the period of analysis of the B. After this result we can decide whether we are dealing with the use of doping or not - said Michał Rynkowski in a conversation with sport.tvp.pl. - On the one hand you can count the cases that confirm the result of sample A. It is most likely that we will have to deal with anti-doping rule violation - added Rynkowski.

According to our information, the test for the presence of prohibited substances was performed in said one player from league, which took place this year in Gorzow Wielkopolski .

Does Britain have a drug testing regime like they do in Poland?

Be interesting to find out more about this. Can't trust either Google or Bing to make proper translations of subject matter like this, so we don't know if they were testing for "performance enhancing" or "recreational" drugs.

If he is found guilty and gets a ban, it will make Falubaz's chances in the play-offs look less certain, ironically against Gorzow, where he was tested for drugs.

Isn't it if enough riders say a rider is on drugs they eventually test them? Who was the last rider to be caught? Danny Bird in 2007 - and I'm told the authorities were not after him but an Australian rider who on seeing the drug inspector people were there fell over before the meeting and had to be taken to hospital with a bad back!! James Horton in 2003 and Frank Smart & Roger Lobb in 2000. Have I missed anyone else from the last 15 years?

There is no talk about "performance enhancing", or "recreational drugs" - these terms are used in the UK.

We are talking about the presence of prohibited substances.

Acording to reports these substances are prohibited in Poland but not - or example - in Sweden, where Dudek was also tested.

Sounds like the same situation as the one in the Olympics with Swedish ice hockey player Nicklas Bäckström.

You could use that argument against ANY recreational drug. You can't assume its performance enhancing

Similarly you can't assume until the full story is known that it is intentional....just ask a certain British skier about the American version of Vicks sinex.

Be interesting to see what comes out in time

Makes me smile all the do gooders who are holier than thou. Would you all have the same opinions if you had to be drug tested for your own run of the mill occupations then sacked for a failed test. Amazing how everyone lines up to kick a kid when he's down without knowing the facts.

None of this should be in the public domain until after the B test.

Alcohol does more damage to society than any recreational drug and yet is widely accepted, wonder what the punishment is for a rider who fails a breathalyser pre meeting as opposed a drug test, doubt a ban would be comparable

Basically what it boils down to is whether he was using Steroids in order to help with physical side of the fitness regime that riders have...and let's face it, he's not naturally muscular so to handle the bike he needs to build his muscles up...OR was he smoking cannabis or snorting cocaine, or was he using amphetamines in order to "sharpen his mind" (and gating)? All prohibited substances. All questions in need of answers.

OR, to use most caught-out athletes excuse, was he just "using the wrong cough medicine"? lol
