montie
I travelled back home from the 4's on sunday to find the services & off-ramp to the circle closed. This was not pointed out earlier on down the M18 so we ventured up 1 further junction to the A614 & came back down. I could suggest those from the north try via Crowle to join the A18 coming in from the west or via Humber bridge via M180 or through Winterton on the A1077. From the south, try M18 to the A614 to join the A18 or A46 then A15 coming in at the east of scunny. Why would anyone want to go on the A18 when that is the where the hold ups is?? got to be the worst advice i heard,it is taking 3hrs to get from Crowle turning to Keadby bridge!!! IronScorpion
Basically I am just trying to be helpful but 1 poster (mon...) says I talk crap so here is another bit, http://www.scunthorpetelegraph.co.uk/2-30pm-update-M180-lane-set-reopen-tomorrow/story-22211741-detail/story.html You can please some people some of the time but can't please all the people all of the time!
racers and royals
you seemed to have missed something The Longtrack meeting is re-arranged!!! If that is the best you can come up with MR G-sorry Montie then it`s a pretty poor show. I have checked the SCB rule ammendments to this years reg`s and cannot find this amendment 16.5.1 H disregard this rule if any longtrack meeting is brought forward 24 hours. Can you point us in the direction please. Irrespective of when the meeting was or is-the Scunthorpe meeting is Friday-the Long-track meeting Saturday-therefore I repeat No facility. Edit further information 1 Meeting date was changed 30th June 2 Howe qualified for the meeting on 5th July So the re-arranged meeting point is a red-herring as Howe wasn`t even in the meeting when it was re-arranged. thebaron
Simple just keep going on the M62 until the humber bridge,go over that[which im told is now free to clear the hold ups] once over humber bridge take first excit on to round about the 3rd turn on the round about to Winterton 10-15mins later you will be at the EWR i think on your way home the normal way is open and all clear Cheers for this advice and will certainley take note. One report coming in from Talksport says that it will be open from tomorrow morning. Lucky I am on holiday so will set off in plenty of time. Non the less dont want to waste time and fuel in a jam. Might get over early and have a look at the old speedway stadium at Quibell Park as I never went there back in the day. Thanks again. Looking forward to tomorrows match shame we came unstuck at Glasgee on Monday. On the plus side Scorps really had a right old go at the Fours. We said at the start we just want to be in the meeting to the last! and the lads did not let us down. All the Scorps came up with at least one great ride; Ryans pass on Pontus Aspegen in Ht10 of the Final was unbelievable. We are a top team when we all fire thats a fact. montie
It's MR B = montie. A farmer who's Robs "right hand man". you didnt answer my question....why would anyone want to go down the A18 when its totally rammed!!! If that is the best you can come up with MR G-sorry Montie then it`s a pretty poor show. If it is a red herring, why is it ok to use a guest? im sure if it wasnt a valid reason,a NL guest would be in for Howe Also a second reason is that it has be proved to the correct people that it is impossible make both meetings as flights etc dont work, so infact i believe there is two reasons a guest is allowed Just the same as the rained off meeting at Glasgow last month, the long track meeting Howe and Piper were in[Marmade i think] was rain off and raced on the Saturday and raced on the Sunday As it was re arranged,RR for both was granted Cheers for this advice and will certainley take note. racers and royals
A facility has been granted, and that's that - end of story. All the best Rob Sorry Rob but it`s not the end of the story-It`s an illegal guest-the rule book says so-If Howe was in the 1 to 5 I bet Scunthorpe would have been happy to accept the rules. the BSPA cannot make up rules as they go along-If the SCB had any balls they would NOT accept this illegal line-up for this match and tell Scunthorpe in good time to get a NL guest in. screm
Guest facilities for the most obscure of reasons are killing this sport, if promoters want to know why so many are turning their backs should look no further than here, and other matches going on tonight. It is clear that Scunthorpe should not be getting a guest for Howe, not unless Howe is withholding his services and will be banned, then a guest would be quite proper. Let us hope tomorrow nights referee has the decency to up hold the rules the govern this sport. Edited August 7, 2014 by screm
dhr
Just to clear this up. This has all been done above board, both myself and the ACU have made sure no rules are being broken. I cannot make sign on if I ride Friday, which would mean I face a ban from the fim, if I withdraw from the challenge I will be banned from racing Friday and Sunday anyway. The facility isn't for practice it's because I would miss signing on for the meeting David

dhr
If the guest facility is being granted simply so a rider can make a signing on time then that makes it worse, the rules say no guest should be granted for a rider attending practice, I would've thought the same should apply to cover a rider signing in. But if I don't sign on I cannot compete in the meeting so I will be in breach of fim rules and as the fim championship events superseded other fixtures I have no choice. As I've said it has nothing to do with practice it is because I would 100% miss sign on and more than likely the start of the meeting. Thank you David for your answer-did anyone ask the FIM if you could sign in late ie slightly after the 12 noon deadline-as the 07.30am BA flight out of Heathrow with a fast car would get you there probably at 12.30pm. ?? To be honest you get very little give with the fim, I looked at that flight and if there was any hold up in would miss the meeting so I wasn't worth the risk. The ACU also said if I rode on Friday, they themselves would ban me by lifting my licence as the risk was too great. This was all done correctly through the ACU, my promotion and the Bspa, there is no smoke and mirrors, the only person who loses is myself as I lose a meetings wages, especially as I'm at reserve
