Redcar V Berwick (pl) August 7

Recommended Posts

Sounds like a fiddle to me. If Lawson's off chasing EL gold in a rearranged fixture, his replacement should be a National Leaguer, not Glasgow's in-form captain.

But Redcar have it in them (with Lawson or Pijper) to win -- their last three weeks' home wins over Newcastle, Scunthorpe and Workington show they are the form team here, now, on this track.

Berwick could only manage 20-odd at Edinburgh a couple of weeks ago, why should people expect them to roll the Bears over?

And your comparing Edinburgh with Redcar.

According to a Post elsewhere - he has the Management's permission to do so.

Ah so that's all right. :D

Could be any result really - although obviously no Lawson does weaken us somewhat.

Have really enjoyed the last few meetings though, the racing on the whole has been pretty good and I have gone home entertained . Hopefully the same will happen tonight, with another Bears win to boot!

Apparently Ellis asked to be released to ride for Ipswich and this this was agreed by Lakeside, Nilsson I assume would have told Lakeside he had to ride in Sweden prior to agreeing deal - it seems Sweden always takes priority (note Mellgren is missing for Rye tonight) -on what basis Newman is guesting I know not why!

So from that its fair to say had Lawson really wanted to ride for Redcar tonight, he could've asked to be released to, on second thoughts, giving the wild and wacky allegations he came out with the last time these two sides met its probably a good idea he is at Swindon tonight.

Perhaps I may have distorted the issues, it is probably more likely that Ipswich requested the release, as they would not get a facility as Ellis is the lower reserve, and Ellis would (I assume) be able to earn more riding for Ipswich so he would be ok going along with this. Therefore it would be down to Redcar to make the request, having been turned down previously I guess they didn't even try this time.

As to his "wild and wacky accusations" I think the repercussions from his comments speak volumes for how wild and wacky they really were :drink:

Fair point, to balance things out Berwick were allowed to use a guest at Sheffield in the recent KOC tie for Matej Kus, who had been signed off as ill, though he wasn't so ill he that he couldn't race in a Czech League meeting the previous evening. IMO Berwick should not have received a facility that evening.

The last time these sides met was at the STMP, what allegations did he make that night?

outclassed by a solid Berwick side tonight. Would happily pay money to watch Bellego and Jensen every week.

Only Summers really turned up tonight for the Bears (although he was excellent).

Felt a bit sorry for Jan, who got stuffed badly in a couple of first bends.Good to see Kus back to something like his best - he is racing again now and not just riding around.

Really good result for Berwick tonight. Reward for the promotion after the recent run of bad weather and call-offs. Form like this and we should be in the playoffs. Solid team performance seems to be the secret these days. Even when your number one only scores two points. Hopefully Claus is saving the big scores for Saturday and Tuesday?

That was a great meeting around one of my favourite tracks.

The Bandits were unlucky not to take 4 points away from this.
The fact that we were able to win comfortably with a very rare off-night from Claus bodes well for the rest of the season.

There were a lot of hard-won points from the Bandits who looked competitive all the way through.

Whilst I feel for Liam Carr, bringing Alex in undoubtedly won us the three points tonight.
He followed Doolan home for a 5-1 against Pijper and Skidmore in heat 6, from which point we never looked back.

Rest assured unless Berwick would have a sick note they would not have had a guest that night. Stop complaining about your team and its in past, why bring it up again.
