Cliffeboy
Nice early start for this one as the newly crowned 4`s Champs take on the Rockets. It should be a comfortable win for Somerset as their home form this year is probably better than last seasons incredible form. Nice to see that Nick has sorted out his mechanical gremlins that have been hampering his scoring lately, and also that Olly and Pontus appear to be over their respective injuries. The ace in the pack this year must be the rise and rise of Charles Wright who just gets better and better and has been a solid second string home and away. The Rockets are not having the best of times at the moment but hopefully their new look line up with Anders Mellgren ,an old friend of ours, can put on a good show. Safe journey down to all supporters who going , I`ll be at the starting gate on Saturday with the travelling Rebels for the reverse fixture. EnglishRoundabout
It's usually you or I Cliffeboy that starts a Rebels thread these days. I think you have pretty much summarised this fixture. One can't help feeling this will be the Rockets third hammering of the season at the OTA. Kennett apart, they haven't looked competitive on their previous visits. Â Hopefully the attendance will continue on the upward trend (excluding the mid week fixture against Sheffield which was poor) Â My prediction is Ez to produce another superb racing surface and Rebels to hit 60. Shadders
Rockets scored 28 & 26 points on their last couple of visits. What's the odds we'll manage 30. Of course I'll be travelling down for another dose of humiliation

Of course I'll be travelling down for another dose of humiliation I hope for your sake the rest of your team turn up this time instead of just Kennett - Bunyan was even worse for Sheffield the other week than he has been on both visits for Rye... and that's saying something! Â This should be another thrashing assuming the weather holds up!

Anders is still feeling his way back in after his injury. Somerset will hit 55 a least, but probably nearer 60

SCB
Rider replacement for Kennett Len really is mugging the fans here. It's not fair on the few who do travel away to watch Rye House - or the away fans.

Charles is becoming such a consistent rider and his never say die riding attitude is second to none. Keep it going Charles.

Somerset will hit 55 a least, but probably nearer 60 For me out of the seven we have in our side only three should be retained for next year, Kennett, Mellgren and Greenwood. Another embarrassment tonight Garrity and Bunyan quite frankly are a disgrace in our colours, although Luke has appeared to improve on his travels he remains a passenger away from home. If only Boxall could be on some sort of acceptable equipment he would be worth a place. I only hope we can give Somerset a meeting at Rye tomorrow but i feel the ex Rockets in their side will come back and bite us again.

Steve looks well down on power and really needs to get his kit sorted if he wasn't to stay in the Premier League next year. Jason Garrity is giving it a go, but we're really making them look better than they are. Even the crowd are flat tonight. Absolutely no atmosphere whatsoever. They're as bored as I am.The only rider that would've made em work for their points hadn't turned up. Chris
embarrassment of a speedway club. Sell up and piss off you silly old fool. You're as mad as a box of frogs following that team over the country Shadders. Fair play.
Cliffeboy
John Sampford phoned three different riders to guest, none wanted to come Can you blame them, the Rebels are rather quite good this season at home.As Robbo said "It`s better riding with the Rebels than against them at the OTA". You're lucky you don't get to see them at home Cliff. Youd've been bored to death tonight. The place was flat, no atmosphere, expecting another one sided meeting and it was duly delivered with little effort. That's three visits to the OTA in 2014 and we've managed to score just 74 points. I'm just thankful I don't have to go again this year. Edited August 8, 2014 by Shadders

I`ll see you tomorrow and hopefully it`s a better match who ever wins. Â PS It`s pissing down here. orderly
Reminds me of the thrashing that Exeter gave Arena Essex I believe it was a score of 65-15 (back in the 13 heat format days) But these score lines are not helping the sport or the promoters with such high scores. you can't blame Somerset they came to do a job and did it These teams should be penalised for fielding such a weak team, and if Len Silver can't do better than this then he should be refused entry into the premier league in 2015 but offered a place in the National league. I used to respect Len both as a rider and as a very shrewd promoter but that is disappearing now and I feel that the time has come for Len to retire and enjoy the rest of his life...................
