Glasgow Tigers V Scunthorpe Scorpions Pl Mon 4th August 2014 @7-15pm

Recommended Posts

Third time lucky for this particular fixture tomorrow night hopefully . Glasgow might be storm lashed this afternoon , but the forecast for tomorrow looks much better . Fans are becoming increasingly disgruntled with the ridiculous inconsistancy of our team , especially the proven PL performers or supposedly proven PL performers .

Our new signing makes his home debut , and here's hoping Ashfield proves more to his liking than splashing round Shielfield Park did last night . He's a big , skinny laddie who looks a bit like Mitchell Davey on the bike ...............oh dear .

Once again we could be looking at our youngsters and Theo to take the attack to the Scorpions , and hope Wolbert can be bothered .

No idea on the line ups , but we should be along the same lines as last night -

1 Victor Palovaara

2 Theo Pijper

3 Kevin Wolbert

4 Anders Thomsen

5 Rusty Harrison

6 Kasper Lykke

7 Dimitri Berge

As for Scunthorpe , i've no idea what the new green sheets does to their line up , but i heard a rumour than David Howe could drop to reserve . That is an interesting development if true .

Nicolai Klindt will lead their attack and with the likes of Birks and Jorgensen both very capable round Ashfield , and i assume still using r/r for Auty , this could be a very close and entertaining meeting .

Though what to expect from our lot is anybodies guess .

Suppose the main thing tomorrow is whether or not it'll rain.

Then all eyes will be on Two Kevins and Palovaara.

Let's hope Dimitri continues getting back to fitness and match practice.

Confidence not being an issue withe Le Wonderkid.

Anyone know if we have an extra ambulance on standby for Anders?

Dimitri never looked short on confidence at Berwick last night , wee Dorothy 58 couldn't watch at times haha

Scunthorpe will have this down as an away win so should be a good one. David Whye at reserve should be a trump card and Jorgensen also. Got no points expectations from the new boy. What we get from our wildly inconsistent middle order of Wolbert and Thomsen is debatable, just hope the team manager is back tomorrow, a few cages need rattled!

Woeful show by Scunthorpe just woeful. About time Birks got going on track or out the door. Klindt 5 rides away from the GP, errm not on that showing. Well done David Howe, nice riding good to see you getting back to your best.

Bit harsh on Birks considering the serious injuries he suffered last season.

On the whole he's had a decent season. Realistically he wont be back to his best until next season

Some good racing tonight especially Rusty and Theo , Rusty's outside pass on Klindt was just sublime in the way he stalked him for a couple of laps then the outside swoop on the 4th bend Young Dimitri stuggled somewhat but was unlucky with his EF whilst chasing Howe.

The new boy looked better in Ht 13 but is clearly no where near the standard required of a No 1 which is not the lad's fault as stated it is down to the inadequate point scoring of the rider that should have been No 1 and was signed for that purpose but even he looked good tonight but the promotion should be able to see as we do that with him at No 1 it will cost us against better team's

Signing him might work out in the long run but it really required a proven point scorer at this level to improve the team and that is what is required for the now not next season as we have three in Anders,Kasper & Dimitri.

Really disappointed in Scunthorpe tonight i expected better and two heat wins the first in Ht 13 tell's it's own story they are a much better team than what we saw tonight but you can only beat what is in front of you and we easily done that tonight , Pass marks to Howe and to a lesser extent Douglas & Jorgensen very poor from the rest,

I think where Scunny missed the trick was last month in July they had 1.00 to play with average wise to replace Williamson and they didn't use it. It's ok carrying him at home because they get away with it but when the other guys aren't scoring away you can't carry anyone whose not going to score.

No blame of this laid on Matt but as has been stated before the PL spot has come a year or two early for him.

Scunthorpe were pi$$ poor, I thought we'd get thumped. Rusty was really on it tonight, must've had points money to make up from Saturday. Even with Palovaara scoring only 1, Glasgow were never troubled probably because his opposite number only got going in ht11 and Birks was exceptionally poor, gaining his only point against Glasgow's new boy. Douglas, Howe and Jorgensen were solid.

A decent team with a strong top end will put us to the slaughter, whether that applies to Newcastle next week, we shall see.
