Stoke V Cradley Heathens 3/8

Recommended Posts

Should be an interesting meeting, i believe Cradley are without Stevie Worrall, but not sure if he will get to ride if the weather plays a part, without him Cradley are weaker. I will go for a Cradley win by less than 6 points. If Stoke have McBain back they could sneak a win.

It says on FB that Kirby is in for McBain and Williamson Has been called to the 4's so Benji Compton is in for him.

The information coming from the Stoke promotion just lately is getting worse and worse. Since Derek Turner packed in the press officers job earlier in the year, the press releases have got a lot less informative and less often. Meeting previews have only been coming out on the day, and in the case of this meeting, we havent had one at all yet. Match reports are now non existant, only the riders scores are given out. As for James McBain, he should have been fit to ride weeks ago and nothing has been given out by the promotion as to if or why he is not riding. The promotion just want to keep their supporters in the dark as they dont seem to matter to them. I see the Cradeley promotion have even given their own preview out for this meeting, but nothing from Stoke.

Can't say the promotion have ever given a stuff about the fans, the way that lot have let Stoke decline is terrible. Just been to the 4's at Peterborough today and watched a great team performance from Somerset, with great vocal supporters. Relatively speaking, compared with Stoke, somerset are fairly new to league speedway, but to see their set up now, hosting big meetings like the pairs and with lots of silverware, got to make you wonder why Stoke couldn't have done better, particularly with the core set of supporters it had! Shame!

The promotion at the track is dire as well, the presenter was desperate for Cradley riders to miss the 2min warning on a numerous amount of times like it was a two min warning to the end of the world. He puts me off going back to Loomer Rd every time he does my head in with his utter rubbish of trying to make everything rhyme and using words that start with the same letter. Then the music they play is worse than Brandon and thats bad, why is it that speedway tracks only play songs up to 1987 and thats it!

I belive Stoke new they had a chance at a victory and did everything in thier power to try and make it happen. Is the referee alowed to push riders who have staled because the referee at Monmore has helped many a rider before. Then there was a few dubious decisons tonight like when Starke was excluded for knocking Armstrong off...the way I saw it is that Starke had no way of knowing he was there as he was on his blind side. The Heathens gated and sat still in heat one but it was brought back because a Stoke rider had moved and hindered himself at the gate.

Heathens of 5 riders were more than enough for Stoke today and if you put Worrall and Wiliamson back in we would have taken four points easily.

Stoke have a good chance at getting to the play-offs and the final and I wish them luck but Im glad im back from the 1980's.

Question to the Stoke fans? Why did you boo Greaves after he won heat 8. Well done for booing an 17 year old kid, especially when he as done nothing wrong.

The stoke fans were booing because he touched the tapes at the start and the ref missed it. They were booing the ref.

I took my 4 year old son to yesterdays meeting and we both enjoyed it. Plenty of decent racing with a 3rd bend that seemed to keep all of the riders on their toes. It was also nice to have a meeting that seemed to move along a t a decent pace with 2 minutes being called as soon a heat was completed. This certainly helped keep my lad interest and wanting to see more. I know that Stoke isnt the most attractive of stadia but its not as if we are being asked to live their and for a 3 hour visit it has everything that you need.

Regarding booing riders, I'm sure they really couldn't care less, I don't know any riders at all but I cant imagine they are sensitive souls. The booing and jeering just adds to any atmosphere and adds to the entertainment.

Not only are there no official press releases but now not even an official website, not even the "urgent press release" anymore. For you supporters out there with a decent promotion who are actually interested in there supporters appreciate it because you would not like to be run by a shower like this lot.

Think it was about this time last year it went down. It must be time to pay the bill again.
