Kent V Stoke Mon 4th August

Recommended Posts

Who will lead the Kings into battle now Simon is out through injury? A real shame as he was really going well! Thought we were going to be in with a real chance of revenge over the Potters. Can we have a guest or will it be R/R?

The real irony is he got injured guesting for Stoke!!

Providing the other four of Kent's top five all ride on Monday it'll be R/R to cover for Simon as he's second, behind Ben Morley, in the Kings' August averages.

Benji injured his hand again guesting for Cradley at, wait for it, Stoke! He fell in his only 2 rides, being excluded from the 2nd one, then withdrawing from the meeting. Like him, his bike's feeling a bit 2nd hand, but both should be okay to turn out against Stoke. R/R confirmed for Simon Lambert. Need Ben Morley back firing on all cylinders to stand any chance I think.

Yes I know, my inability to understand the guest ruling as resurfaced. So, there is no way we can use a guest? I hope the answer is yes.....

To be honest, i think Stoke have got some cheek pulling in a guest for both riders. We did them a favour by lending them Lambert the other night only for him to get injured! I had never contemplated a rider guesting for a playoff rival until this weekend. On one hand I want Lambert to get bookings and earn cash - he has plenty of talent and has hit some fine form. On the other hand, I can't get my head around our best rider helping out our closest rival. I know Boxall rode for plenty of other NL teams last season but we never had a chance of the playoffs!

So it happens in 3's does it?

Oh, and the bronze helmet is a joke! Lambert can't defend his title so the pleasure falls to one of his team mates? David Mason to increase his record anyone?

Rain predicted between 6pm and 8pm, so I'm giving it a swerve after last week

I've just checked BBC and Met Office. Looking okay for tonight now. Light showers only predicted, but they should have blown away before tapes up.

Sarjeant in for Wilson. Owen in for Payne. R/R for Lammy. Question is, will R/R earn us more points than a guest? The list of available guests who might do a job for us is quite restricted:

Max Clegg

Tom Perry (riding EL)

Joe Jacobs (riding EL)

Brendan Johnson (riding EL)

Liam Carr

Dan Greenwood

Stefan Nielsen (riding EL)

James Cockle

James Sarjeant (Stoke got there first)

James Shanes (injured)

Darren Mallett

Lewis Rose (riding EL)

I might have been tempted to invite Jack Kingston along.

Its a shame, I should be able to go and not worry that if its rained off, you get your money back/re admission, but after last week, it's not something I'm going to risk

even if its raining, you just know they'll get at least 2 races on then charge you a tenner or something equally daft
