Gemini
.....rmc.......Bear in mind he only rode five full seasons. He stayed in Britain though and is now a successful businessman. In the past few years he's rediscovered speedway as I'm sure Facebook users will be very aware. Oh yes.
stratton
And hopefully Kyle will kick his career onwards and upwards if this improvement is so self evident. Time will tell no doubt.Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, makes me wonder if you want him to fail you would have to be Stevie Wonder to think he has not improved a wee bit. stevebrum
Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, makes me wonder if you want him to fail you would have to be Stevie Wonder to think he has not improved a wee bit. It wasn't sarcasm. It was honesty. I don't live in the kids brains to know what he feels he is capable of. I mean i have said he has made small progress each season, what more do you want. You are the one that is banging on how much he has improved and myself and others have merely pointed out that his career hasn't moved forward at any real significant case that can be measured other than team position/who he beats/ safety on bike/progression of average through the whole of the year. As i have said all this progression you are noting WILL result in career progression season on season and hopefully next season will be better still. He isnt a Wolves rider so i have no real invested interest if he makes it or not. As a Brit i hope ALL the kids/Draft/NL riders progress enough to make our nation a force again and there is no bigger champion of the Draft system than me. I am delighted the EL have adopted it, long may it continue - in a more constructive way.

SteveLyric2
Reasonable score again from Newman guesting as a 2nd string for Lakeside last night - similar scores to 2 heat leaders and the other 2nd string!! Decent improvement methinks.
SCB
They have been there: and failed. Really? Birks has is in his 4th season to PL/EL racing. He has had 24 meeting in the EL in his career and averaged 3.6 in them meetings. He is making steady progress each season but his level is not that of EL second string but EL reserve - unfortunately that position has been taken away from him - so the "if you're good enough..." argument is not true or Birks - theres no place for him. As for Roynon - the 5.5 EL average suggests he's not failed - the average EL rider averages 6 (mathematical fact) - so he's just below average - if thats failing then most riders should quit now - but the issue for me there isnt the draft as he'd have to be an EL second string on his average anyway. Auty, maybe he has "failed" but again, the 5.5 and 5 point EL averages dont suggest that. But lets not forget, he's only 23 - how does that compare with the average age of a draft rider? Probably a tiny bit above average, it's probably about 22 the average age. So if Birks and Auty can be written off now so can half the draft. orion
I doubt he knows why. If he did I'm sure he would have done something about it by now. No rider wants to ride badly. Of course he knows ...his Bikes in the uk are garbage . The bottom line is he not going to anything about it as the cost for the reward don't add up . foreverblue
I expect those riders who have the places that would have been occupied by Birks and Auty are cheaper. Oh, sorry, this is all about exploiting, developing young riders, not cost-cutting, isn't it? That reminds me, I must reply to nice Nigerian gentleman who wants to lend me $10m for the weekend.... The problem with the FTR scheme is it's based on opinion, not stats. The participating riders are chosen as are their rankings and so the credibility rests on the quality of that decision-making and that it is seen to be fair and above-board. Events this week have called that into question. I do wonder if the administrators of the FTR scheme are being used as much as the riders themselves? I do suspect that their intentions are genuine but as ever it's being twisted to suit the shallow short-term thinking of the hustlers who run our sport. Of course some riders will progress but then under the normal system talent like Kerr, Rose, Blackbird and Garrity should have been able to progress without it, providing two bad meetings hadn't seen their places taken by some kids from unpronounceable places. Perhaps the one great feature is that their places are reasonably secure under the FTR scheme which does give them time - well, unless you ride for Poole. That's ridiculous, you can't have a grading system based on opinion, surely it should be based on NL averages or PL averages or a comination of both.
