Jacques
In that case I strongly recommend you take a trip to Berwick. Anderson's Pies are to die for. :approve: Seems a bit contradictory that. So you HAVE actually had problems over food and drink. Bit of a long way to go for a pie

ColinMills
Seems like ColinMills doesn't like anything about King's Lynn speedway. In my umpteen years of going to Lynn I have never had my bag searched or food/drinks taken off me.Only at the SWC does this occur so we know not to take anything, blimey you even have to drink the free monster energy drink you get just before you get in. There are signs saying about no personal food/drink allowed into the stadium,it's been there a while not sure how long though.I'm afraid this happens at most major events throughout the UK. As regards the men searching your bags,i have never ever seen these at King's Lynn speedway before. If you look at the terms and conditions of your ticket the event organisers can search you bags although this is meant to be on safety grounds. I think people are making mountains out of molehills here, just on one event that happens to occur at King's Lynn.It could be at another track and I bet the same would happen. You also mentioned it's common knowledge you cant take your own food/drink to the cinema is it common knowledge? your 1st line is totally wrong.....just like the rest.... had you seen any other post, you will of seen i think you should be champions, as im not a play off fan, you will of also seen i think lynn is a great race track (but not so much lately)..i did ask, was there a response from the current promotion over this?..water should be given, if needed free, just like in nightclubs..!!!! MrB
To me if you know about it and still go then you have yourself to blame.Said before it is up to the customer to find out the conditions before buying a ticket and entering the stadium. It seems Lynn actually did have signs up near where you buy tickets,so everything is in order. Went last year and there was nothing until you got to the entrance! when you park half a mile away then queue for an hour only to be told you either have to "dump your stuff or take it back to the car" you are pretty p***ed off to say the least, especially as there was no mention of it until you get to the gate. One of the reasons I didn't go back this year TBH.
25yearfan
If you don't like the racing ,don't go. It's so simple a solution even I can manage it. That's exactly what I done quite a while ago now! If the racing at King's Lynn was on a par with what it used to produce in the 70's and 80's I would go to more than a few meetings there! I respect Buster Chapman and no I'm not in dispute with him or have a grudge like another poster suggests! Ipswich produces better racing than King's Lynn nowadays something you'd of never said years ago and you can take your own food in there!
Woz01
Wouldn't be surprised if it was a health a safety issue with the crowd being much larger than normal. Did the bar staff pour soft drinks out of the bottle into them cardboard cups? Most stadiums have the do same policy although I see no reason why you can't bring food in. arnieg
From 'Tears and Glory' - 2002 chapter: Gaming International set about making a few superficial improvements to keep the stadium going. These included a new turnstile area and new floodlights. However, Gaming International's most noticeable change sparked the 'great food rebellion'. In June, security guards strictly enforced a new policy that spectators could not bring any food or drink into any area of the stadium. Dave Wright wrote in the Reading Evening Post: “Even a woman carrying sweets for team mascot Roary to distribute among the kids during the meeting was stopped. She was allowed to take them in but was warned by the guard he may not be so lenient next week. In all my 20 years of following the sport I have never known Racers fans to be so uptight as they are this week”. Threats of demonstrations, boycotts, and sponsorship withdrawal soon resulted in a climb-down. Edited August 6, 2014 by arnieg
Blackadder
Assistance please. I have read of problems with road works at King's Lynn. Have they been completed yet? If not, advice on the best way to come from the Newark area, going in to north Norfolk. Many thanks.
Star Lady
Assistance please. I have read of problems with road works at King's Lynn. Have they been completed yet? If not, advice on the best way to come from the Newark area, going in to north Norfolk. Many thanks. Due to finish on Aug 12th so as long as you travel after that you will only hit the normal bottlenecks. If before pm me.
